Great song, great artist, no opinions or drama required. | Reviewer: DJ'Reptoid | 9/22/07

Great song, great artist, no opinions or drama required.

Have people really changed that much since I was born or has the internet just brought out the worst in people this last generation or so? So many great artists would mourn the death of common respect, courtesy and even self awareness these days. Where has the love and honour gone today? Perhaps I'm just 'old' - too old for my own music production, distanced from his own fans. Perhaps I project too much value into internet users when reading their comments on-line because they don't clearly represent the more mature audiences and fans of assorted great and unknown brilliant artists who don't feel the need to speak, attack or defend anyone whether holding a guitar or simply wearing a pair of headphones. Perhaps if I can relate to anyone 'hear' it's those who enjoy music for art's sake and respect all variety of art and artists and don't worry about what anyone else thinks of their personal feelings and pleasures that they get from whatever artist they listen to. Those fans I can perhaps still relate to, yes. Enjoy, have fun, dance, hug and smile more... Peace.

i like Nirvana :D yall...this song is really cool!
i like playin it on the guitar...it has this relaxin beat to it that just makes me happy, and Kurt probably hates all of yall cuz neither of you guys know wat this song is about and he once said that he hated his so called fans that listen to Nirvanas song but never really got the meanin of it...

Has that quality of seeming to have an inherently deep meaning that does not stand up to close scrutiny. As with other Cobain's compositions it hints at mood/feeling in an abstract manner, certainly atmospheric but Sinead O'Connors take on it is the DEFINITIVE version

meaning | Reviewer: frank | 8/5/07

it cant be about his marriage with courtney cause he wrote it at the end of 91, he was not married at this time and had no children so it cant be about courtney or france billy billy

Meaning | Reviewer: billywilly | 7/24/07

You guys are stupid and obviously single. This song is about his marriage with Courtney. Read the chorus. Being married, I know where he's coming from with the verses. Sometimes you just want to throw up your hands... Nirvana contributed some pretty cool things to the music industry, but I certainly don't agree with Cobain's world views. I think their overrated. If Cobain hated that his songs were commercialized then why did he write radio friendly songs with simple and catchy little power chords? He was no more than a depressed rich guy who got too high and unfortunately had a shotgun nearby. Peace out

Well said, Pen Cap Chew. To Anonymous: take a look at your still living "rock" heroes. How many of them sold out to the all mightly dollar? To reality TV? Fame, power, money. You didn't know Kurt or his music at all. He didn't want any of that. Anyway, I'm probably from your generation and I love Nirvana. I love this song and all Nirvana songs. And I know them all.

ok first of all if you think you live him spell his name right OK??? its Kurt Cobain (or Kurdt if your talking about his alterego)
kurt was an amazing lyrical genious.its true that our genaration have sadly missed out on some of the greats and im not goin to defend his sucide because i think it was the one of the musics worlds biggest losses having said that i didnt live through what he did and therefore i dont know how desparate he was!
but what i wanted to say was that this is a wonderful song and it definately is one of nirvanas best!!
and its true that 'Kudt' lives on, through his music and his fans.
ps he wasnt wronged by the "kids and corparations" he wanted all of that popularity dont try to figure him out youl get lost in his mind just appreciate him as a genious
kurt i love you

"You twits know absolutely nothing if you think Cobain is a "rock" hero. His was a brief, intense shooting star that couldn't stand the test of time and stress"

I think that this person has it right. Kurt was distressed since he was a child. This song shows it.

youre all a bunch of retards. kurt cobain did not have some deep message behind all of his songs, most of the lyrics dont mean anything at all, theyre just catchy nonsense. he even said himself in an interview, that most of the lyrics he writes at the last minute, and that theyre just a bunch of bullshit and he didnt understand why everybody tried to get some deep message out of them. he was a good songwriter, not a god among men, not some kind of genius. he was a fuckin junkie who wrote great rock songs. nothing more. stop trying to be deep.

youre all a bunch of fucking retards. kurt cobain didnt have some "great message" he was trying to get across, most of the lyrics dont mean anything and he even said himself in an interview that he writes most of the lyrics at the last minute and theyre just a bunch of bullshit and he didnt understand why people tried to see some deep message behind it. he wasnt a fucking "god", he was a good songwriter and thats it. stop trying to be deep because you arent and neither was he.

Kurt's suicide | Reviewer: Pen Cap Chew | 5/15/07

"You twits know absolutely nothing if you think Cobain is a "rock" hero. His was a brief, intense shooting star that couldn't stand the test of time and stress"

To the person, who said this, you didn't know a THING about Kurt.

Sure, his career was brief, but you have to put yourself in his shoes. All he wanted to do was make good music, he loved it, and then he gets on MTV and the kids and corporations tear apart all the soul and meaning in his music and turn it into a stupid "we like it cause it's popular" trend and commercialize it.

His suicide was a final "fuck you" to everybody who never listened to the message he tried to get across. But he succeeded in the end.

I have always loved all of nirvana's work, but this song has been my favourite for ages. I reckon that the lyrics are simple but effective. I think that this is Curt Cabain's best song, and he will live forever!!
