yeah this is a kurdt kobain original and he wrote it about an ex girlfriend named tracy marander whom he lived with for a couple of years in olypia and she supported him finacially and emotionally for that time.

Kurt Cobain | Reviewer: Raymondo | 8/9/07

I find it really hard to understand what Kurt Coabain actually singing about hafe the time anyway, his Lyrics don’t make any sense it Confuseding, I love nirvana soo much

Couple Points | Reviewer: John | 8/7/07

First Off, this is by Cobain.

Second, you guys do realize this Isn't the "About a Girl" on "With the Lights Out". That one has different lyrics. This is the album release. I have submitted the stuff from With the Lights Out.

omg | Reviewer: mike ore | 7/28/07

first of all this song was not written by david bowie or the beatles, kurt was inspired to write this song when he was listening TO the beatles

not bowie | Reviewer: Alex | 7/25/07

i reli love when people like "terri" try to act like they know what they are talking about, this was written by kurt cobain, Allegedly about an ex girl friend he was living with when he was without a home. I was featured on the first nirvana album "bleach" under the indi record label sub pop, and was produced by butch vig. this was not a david bowie song!! and was not a "nirvana interpretation"

not bowie | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/30/07

about a girl was not written by david bowie, its a cobain original and a brilliant one at that.

Don't be afriad of what is. | Reviewer: Autism | 5/30/07

Was Kurt brilliant, or are you all dumb? Think about it.

"Truth - covered in security
I can't let you smother me
I'd Like to, but it couldn't work
Trading off, taking turns"

Man who sold the world | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/4/07

The Man Who Sold the World is a David Bowie cover. Ít's on the same CV so you must've got them confused... Also a very good song.

i do | Reviewer: karma | 5/3/07

sometimes you can't be with someone unless you have something to offer them.

bowie | Reviewer: joel | 5/4/07

the man who sold the world was originally written by bowie and it appeared on nirvana's unplugged album along with about a girl which is an entirely original cobain number.

so true | Reviewer: pat | 2/23/07

what the hell is wrong with evryone. this is gottabe like the 5th review of a nrivana song where someone says its a cover. its nuts. anyways david bowie did NOT write this song.

not David Bowie | Reviewer: Tiaira | 2/6/07

This song was penned by Kurt Cobain about his ex grifriend. David bowie had nothin to do with this. It's so not a cover. Just brilliance.
