I Bloody well love this song it is amazing! p.s Please stop comparing Tarja and Annette! They are not the same person Annette will never sound like Tarja accept this fact and move on! Both women are amazing singers in there own right! :D

Special | Reviewer: The Poet | 6/2/09

My friend introduced me to Nightwish but the first time I listened to them I wasn't impressed. But since I have been using Jango, I thought I would give Nightwish another try. I'm glad I did. I love this song!! It is absolutely one of my three favorites. The other two are Pale by Within Temptation and 7 Days to the Wolves by Nightwish. I don't know much about Nightwish but they really out did themselvves and I applaud them for it. I really admire artists that can make a long lyrical song and fill it with deep meaning. I am also an American.

Forgetting | Reviewer: The Poet | 6/2/09

I forgot to add something in my last review. The song is dreamlike and Nightwish provides me with music that I have been craving for for so long! I love the adventure and dreams! Wish I could visit the Elvenpath.

WOW! | Reviewer: Shellz | 5/31/09

The first version I had of this track was the demo, so a lot of the words were overridden by that random guy's voice, but I recently downloaded the original track, and listening to the lyrics, all that come out was... WOW! Is it just me or is there also a great biblical influence in this song? I'm a Christian, and so much of this song rang true when I considered the death of Jesus upon Golgotha; the second thief that died next to him; Mary at the feet of Jesus weeping yet still reminding Him that she loves Him and He's doing what God wants; even the blade falling, perhaps alluding to the blade that was pushed into His side as He died! Wow, there's just so much wonder in this track, Tuomas is amazing! But, as a side note, I still don't think Nightwish is the same without Tarja, but we are all allowed our opinions :) I still can't wait for the next album!

A Mess | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/31/09

The lyrics are great and so is the music and the atmosphere. Unfortunately, Annette's powerless screaming ruins it. I understand that working with Tarja had become unlivable, but this is this about music or about a soap opera? I'd have much preferred to think of them as a good memory rather than a sad, sad waste of talent. I will still listen to Tarja, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to boycott this band I've known since I was barely 10 years old.

Amazed | Reviewer: Drackolus | 5/5/09

I will grant that Anette is not as good a singer as Tarja. Mayhaps she'll get better. However, I completely agree with their decision to boot Tarja. I do not believe what they did was cruel. They needed to tell their fans why. Frankly, Nightwish was more incredible for their lyrics, of which Tarja had no part, not the singing in my opinion. As much as it sucks that she's gone... I'm not against the idea. I hope they come back with another good album.

Back on subject, the song is amazing. I loved the story behind it. Though, I must say, Tuomas has quite an ego, no? No wonder I can relate ;)

Maybe the next album will be more suited for Anette.

NIGHTWISH ROCKS! | Reviewer: Wame | 5/5/09

i really respect Tuomas' talent. omigosh!! seriously though, i never knew about nightwish until recently, when i watched their Amaranth video on MTV's headbanger's ball. i was stunned and intrigued at this band. where i live one isn't exposed much to metal music.. i kinda have to research new songsand stuff by myself cos nobody here listens to it ^^, i hadn't heard this type of metal subgenre (symphonic power metal) before i heard nightwish. i fell in love with it.. i mean.. omigosh!! lol. i then downloaded dark passion play and listened to a few past songs with Tarja's singing.
this song is phenominal. very very impressive. wow. the use of all the additional intruments, the style of singing, the emotions the song evokes.. just phenominal. honestly. i love all the band members. i adore annette. i can't say much about Tarja because i haven't heard much from her. all i can say is THAT WOMAN CAN SING!!! she can, no doubt about it. but let's not forget that so can annette. i just think it shouldn't be so much of a big deal. i mean, look at the artistry they've created with annette! i don't care who's voice is better, let's move on and forget the what-ifs. their reasons for kicking whoever out is none of my business.
i love nightwish!
peace xxxx

Amazing Song | Reviewer: anon | 3/28/09

This song is killer! Definately a great way to get accustomed to Annette's vocals. My favorite part of this are the instrumentals, definately the oboe/bass duet at 10 minutes 12 seconds and the oboe/cello duet at 4 minutes 38 seconds. What a moving song!

preferences... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/21/09

When listening to this album, I realized that these songs do probably fit Annete's voice more than they would Tarja's. I also think that Tuomas had this in mind: Annete's style of singing is not the same as Tarja's. (well Duh) So he probably had to write the music based accordingly. And though I do prefer Tarja, I also like Annete. I'm just disappointed that Annete can't sing the old nightwish songs and sing them as well as Tarja. Yet I doubt Tarja could do the songs on this album in the way Annete can.

This song is epic... | Reviewer: Night Wish Dreamer | 3/19/09

This song is moving in many ways. As someone who does not get to see his mother too often, the last two stanzas strike a cord. Nightwish is amazing thanks to the hard work of the entire band. This is what music should be about.
