Annette Olson I find, personally, is as good as Tarja was. They both have unique characteristics that separate the two. Comparing both of them is like saying, "a peach is in reality a banana."
Annette I find is more lively, while Tarja had that amazing opera voice.
While Tarja will be missed, Annette certainly holds the right to be a part of Nightwish!

I have finally gotten my hands on a copy of Dark Passion Play - and I've got to say that hearing "Amaranth" and "7 Days to the Wolves" gives me a lot of hope for Anette as the singer of Nightwish.
It is those two songs that I believe are best in the album - despite what others say. And "Amaranth" is stuck in my head - very horribly.
I think Anette will do well with Nightwish, though Tarja shall be missed horribly.

Anette is waaay better singer than Tarja, she just sings different style! Anette CAN sing like Tarja, but the other way around - no! Anette has a much broader voice range, while Tarja can only sing opera style (excellent though). That makes Anette a better singer... You just have to get used to her. And not everything is in vocals. Tuomas did an amazing job by composing that excellent, orchestral music...

Personally I found Tarja to be a better singer due to the amazing power of her voice, but Annette is also quite good.
Nightwish long have been one of the greatest bands and will continue to be for a long time yet.
The sheer passion inherent in their songs denies any other outcome.

I will always love Nightwish, cause they're awesome, no matter who sings!However i do think that Tarja added something to the music that Anette doesnt. Anette is a great vocalist, and her voice sounds great on the new music,but Tarja was definitely better than her. Even so they're still my favourite band, and they will be until Tuomas stops writing the lyrics, and the music stops being so amazingly powerful!!:)

I think NW is as good as WT.Tajor's sound is a bit crasy, while it also can be a kind of great flavors.

anetta olson may be good but honestly come on Tarja was atleast a 100 times better. she put perfection to thier music. anetta is not as good as tarja. and she won the war now 1/2 of their fans say "Tarja who"

Sadly enough, I rather enjoy Tarja much better, personally I don't like their new stuff, I just can't get into them anymore without Tarja there. It just doesn't entrigue me anymore. So their old stuff is great new stuff not so much. A great band all in all great lyrics awesome sound, just not the new singer >-<

The new singer, Annette Olson, has just been announced. The single, Eva, is amazing, and the old Nightwish was great. Annette Olson introduces something Tarja didn't. Tarja will always be better in my mind but guys Tarja's gone :) yes I know, it's sad :( but at least nightwish have got a great replacement. How many bands go really bad with a new singer? I've heard another couple of songs from their new album (the samples on the web page) AND she's great! She isn't Tarja, but who could be? Be grateful, shes a good singer :)
