A love song? | Reviewer: The Jiminy Sea | 4/5/09

How hypocritical is it to spend ten years in prison because you don't want to hurt "your best friend," when all the time you are betraying him behind his back by having a relationship with his wife?

This is not love for the following reasons:
1. Love contains the idea of actually caring about some other person's interests besides your own.
2. If the act of adultery were limited to that one night and both parties looked back on it with regret as betraying their husband/best friend, than it follows that keeping quiet would be somewhat in the friend's interest.
3. However, these two people, knowing that their past act of betrayal would have crushed the husband's/friend's heart, for ten years plan to betray the friend again.
4. The protagonist also does not really "love" the woman. Rather than publicly express his love for the woman by telling his friend and being able to spend the next ten years of his life with her, he decides it is better to avoid destroying his "friendship"(all the while continuing to betray his friend) than surrendering all secondary concerns in the interest of "true love."

This is not love.

now a days cheating with your bff's wife..isnt that big a deal..some go without remorse..but this guy loved the wife very much..and vise versa..she vowed to wait for him..he went to prison willingly..because he had a valid alliby..but didnt want to hurt his bestfriend..its a love song..and a beautiful one..

Uhm | Reviewer: Tine | 2/22/08

Why so upset about he being with his friend's wife, that happens all the time, and this is a song, songs should reflect reality and dreams,
I like it a hundred times better than the mentioned "shake your booty, naughty hoe!" music...

Long Live Nightwish!!! | Reviewer: crazy guy | 12/6/07

I haven't heard the original but i think this is a GREAT song as far as the lyrics AND the music are concerned. This is the 1st song i heard from this band and since then, i worship them!

AN ACTUAL LOVE SONG | Reviewer: Cesar Hector | 9/3/07

Love is not easy, it hurts too many people to survive and that's expressed on this song. And about "roll models" thats bullshit. Feelings and emotions depend on art but people's life depends on the system.

amazing | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/2/07

this is by far one of my favorite songs by Nightwish, i love the lyrics and its a song you can never get tired of. NIGHTWISH ROX!! =D

good song | Reviewer: Cami | 8/28/07

I love this song, sure it's about adultry, sure its about breaking the law. But what the hell do you think the old westerns were made of? They're considered great classics to many people. I love how this song tells a story. Not many songs do that anymore. It's all "get down and shake that booty-licious thang!" I mean come on! People who are complaining about this song not having good "roll models" which would you rather listen to?

Everything's ripped off something | Reviewer: Chel | 8/7/07

And I don't care. It's a nice song by a cool band. And who cares if it's adultary? Who goes looking for role models in songs, anyway? Stupids.
