" only thing that bugs me is that its about a guy cheating with his best friends wife....not particularly good roll-model." | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/20/07
^^ the end of this song is all about them wishing to be back together again, you should learn to read? and i yes i agree its not a great role model but its not supposed to be its a song( and an amazing one at that) and nothing more
over the hills! | Reviewer: sb.seed@gmail.com | 6/15/07
yes it is a good song. only thing that bugs me is that its about a guy cheating with his best friends wife....not particularly good roll-model. i look at it from the perspective that since he commited a supid idiotic adultery he kinda deserved what he got.
I Approve | Reviewer: God | 5/29/07
I Approve of this song. I don't give a damn that it's a remake. Long live Nightwish. And screw Africa- I refuse to help with the genocide there. Mysterious ways and all.

The song is telling a story, does anyone know if this is based on some kind of myth or legend of someplace?

This is a big classic, i´ve always loved this song!
However i do have a hard time listening to Nightwish version of it, prefer the original.
Awesome song | Reviewer: Nick | 2/7/07
This has to be my favourite song, i love the lyrics and the music, nightwish have done well.
Long Black Veil...? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/1/06
I LOVE this song and the way Nightwish do it. The lyrics however, are a bit of a rip off of the Wilkens and Dill song (recorded by Johnny Cash in 1964) The Long Black Veil.
Not a Nigtwish song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/25/06
Nightwish have not written "Over the Hills and far away". It's just a cover originally written by Gary Moore in 1986.
