Annette has a voice to die for that has the incredible potential for dueting with that fantastic voice which was silenced by Tarja. his vocals deserve to be heard, while your lips are still red proves that. the truth | Reviewer: fan number 1 | 2/16/09 Tarja kicks ass. Anette cannot sing as high. Her voice sounds girly and misplaced. It sounds...pop-like. Tarja had an essence of opera, something Anette cannot come close to replicating. Goth and opera go hand in hand, pop belongs to preppy bleeting with Britney Spears and Lindsey Lohan. And how do we know Tarja is irreplacable? The guys are singing more and more in their newer songs. All of them combined cannot make up for the vocal quality Tarja gave. That is what I think. Take it how you will. I would think twice about responding with some immature post landen with obscenities. It only makes your point that much less convincing, but I wouldn't expect children to understand that. Tarja is not done for she still has her career and Anette is a great singer as well. They sing differently but you know what? The music is the same and lets not care about the vocals but the music. If we all focus in the vocals then everyone in the band could be replaced and you are still bitching about the Tarja thing. GROW UP! These are great songs. I also think that Tarja has a very good voice and all the songs Nightwish did with her were amazing. But I also have to say that Nightwish songs with Anette are also amazing. Its a really stupid argument to have over who is better because they are both really good in there own way. Regardless of why Tarja is no longer a member of nightwish, she is still a good singer. With Tarja, and with Anette. The band has made changes and moved on, so should we as fans. If one does not like the new line up, so be it, press on. Tarja will always be a part of Nightwish, just as Anette is currently. Nightwish's music is timeless, regardless of the line-up. Lets keep in mind, this is not the first change Nightwish has made in its line-up. Look forward to the next album. Something my vocal coach told me about trying to sing extreme notes, be they high or low notes, was that singers should "Be careful, and not try to strain your voice to make a note. You'll end up missing the note, straining your vocal cords, or both." Tarja's voice is more powerful, more striking, more diverse, and better in general for a metal band like Nightwish, mainly because the strength of her voice can actually carry the accompanying music. Anette's voice, while good in its own right, just isn't strong enough to stand out against the power of the metal music. She'd be good in many other bands, just... not Nightwish. I miss Tarja... Not worse | Reviewer: Ali | 6/22/08 I have just started my adventure with Nightwish and at the beginning I had different look - Tarja with her opera singing didn't fit for metal songs at all as for me, Anette seemed much more likely and being just great (much better than Amy Lee, the girl that sing for Tristania and the one from Incubbus Succubus or guys from Iced Earth, Hammerfall not to mention Within Temptation singer...; oh, ok - maybe not as good (but almost same sexy :P ) as Cristina Scabbia from Lacuna Coil). After hours of listening I learned to value Tarja unique voice (especially in End Of All Hope, Wishmaster, Ever Dream...). But Still I guess Anette is rather dramatically different than obviously worse for the band. I guess her style (i.e. sneakers, shorts) needs quick and radical correction for the whole image, but it is being corrected - just look at the photo sessions chronologically. I agree, for those all used to and loving Tarja's voice, Anette can be a shock and general comedown and I do agree that female opera voice is rare as hen's teeth in metal, so Nightwish lost some of it's arguments but still Anette is also really good after all! tarja fired from band? | Reviewer: wraithqueen | 1/28/08 when was she fired from the band and how did you find out cause as far as i can tell she is still part of that band and as far as i can tell they love her and i should know i have met them and i have spoken with them and they love her and frankly her voice is spectacular for the band so Mor-Aduial i really think you have a problem . you obviously have no sense of sound pitch and good music. you need to learn what music is .
