The Reviews about Amaranth (page 5/ 20)
------ performed by Nightwish

Catchy | Reviewer: Maz | 1/9/08

This is SO one of the catchiest tunes out there...i was addicted the first time i heard it. Its always in my head - horrendously hard to forget!!
Also, Annette definitely isnt as strong as Tarja vocally, but that doesn't mean she's bad!!

I hate myself for not having heard of Nightwish until a month ago. But I am completely in love with them. And I couldn't say whether I like Tarja or Annette better. They're both amazing singers. ^_^

Incredible new chapter for Nightwish | Reviewer: Matt | 1/7/08

I have been a fan of Nightwish for several years now, and I have to say, the new sound totally blows away their older stuff. Yes it's more poppy and mainstream, but I think it fits. If music never progressed, we'd still be listening to minuets played on harpsichord. Anette is an incredible find for Nighwish, and the metal community in general. I haven't gotten enough of this album yet, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they stop off in Florida for their tour!

Superb | Reviewer: Tony | 1/3/08

Having never heard of Nightwish before (shame on me, I know) I am a fan of both singers. While Tarja has an amazing, operatic voice, Annette brings a fresh sound. The associated "commercialism" of this specific song is a 2 way street. Die hards hate to see the commercialism of their band but on the other hand, the commercial success allows the musicians to make money and therefore release new music, create a better stage performance etc. And, depending on the success of such commercialism, it can allow a band to explore and experiment. I for one have become ADDICTED to Amaranth and Bye Bye Beautiful. I applaud the band for finding a fresh voice while still respecting what brought them here.

i loooove nightwish :) | Reviewer: ross | 12/28/07

I like | Reviewer: OnTheLoose | 12/26/07

this song. Im sorry that tarja has left. she is wonderful singer and the band is not the same since shes gone. i wont say that anette is a bad singer, cause shes not. shes pretty good actualy. but i think shes too lets say spice girls like.(i would say "pop" in slovenian, but im not sure how it sounds in english). whaterver, i wish tarja would stay. i will 100% go to the concert when they come to slovenia. I really want to hear how anette sings older song. but im sure that noone can sing Over the hills and far away or Elvenpath as good as tarja did.

Anette is good | Reviewer: Paul | 12/26/07

I think anettes doing a great work. Tarja has a beautifull voice. I havn't listen much to nightwish because i thought that Tarja used her "operavoice" to much. Some songs like Phantom of The Opera MUST have a opera voice to work. It will be interrested to see how Anette can handle that. But not all songs should be sung like opera. Thats why i didnt listen to them much before because the vocals sounded veru much the same on every song. I think Anettes has the ability to change a little more.

Well... | Reviewer: Banshee | 12/24/07

i prefer Tarja, she was almost all the style of the band, but the voice of Annette is not bad. I just think Nightwish is becoming in a comercial band with the voice of the new singer.
Oh! and she shouldn´t sing the old Nightwish's songs, doesn´t sound good.

Bye Bye Tarja | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/20/07

It was always a hard act to follow as Tarja was a major personality but Nightwish have done something extraordinary and adapted their style to Annette's softer vocals. Bands usual stick to the same playing style and favourite chords when a new singer joins and it sounds disjointed and awkward but Nightwish have nailed the switch over.
Personally, I could only bear to listen to a handful of the old songs as Tarja's voice often gave out a sense of smugness (is that just me hearing that?) and a lot of offkey, warbling notes made me think I was at a church hymn service. She only stopped being such a prima donna IN VOICE on the Once album which coincidentally is their biggest selling album with Tarja...hmmm, do the maths there...
Annette is more of what Sharon Den Adel is to Within Temptation, a much more pleasing voice on the ear and clearer diction so no more looking up lyrics on the internet. I love this song, it's catchy, it's dynamic, it's a big seller. Annette has a much more modest feel to her and rightly so to be catapulted into such a famous band and it has an endearing quality. Let's hope the band don't make the same mistakes as with Tarja by placing her on a pedestal and that she keeps that modesty throughout her career!

Who is the best? | Reviewer: Elias | 12/16/07

i agree with (Again with the VS! |)because they have different abilities But they both r so fuc#ing good .. Everbody in the band together is best , then 2 the last thing ! I wonder what would a song b with both of them singin? ;)
