The Reviews about Rock Star (page 11/ 17)
------ performed by Nickelback
Not the point!! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/7/07
Thank god for John Doe - at last someone with a brain! This song is not about morals - it's about the way people envision life as a rock star. It's not a person place or thing - it's an idea. And if you want the truth, it sounds pretty cool to me...its just the extended version of the old "Sex Drugs Rock N Roll"
My Opinion | Reviewer: Nicole | 8/7/07
This song shows a side of Hollywood that we don't normally see. He doesn't like his "normal" life, being treated equally by others. He wants something more, some recognition and fame, preferential treatment. Being in the spotlight has a cost though, but some people are willing to go through that all to have the life that one could only dream of. I think that this song is great.
Hello, Irony? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/7/07
Does anybody get irony anymore. Anybody who doesn't like this song needs to look into their own repressed, humorless mind and lighten up! This is great!
wake the fuck up | Reviewer: John Doe | 8/6/07
damn you guys are idions this song does not imply anything about rock stars and if you think it does you are missing the entire point of the song. this song does not imply that if you do become a movie star you will end up doing drugs it is being cynical about the mind set of the youth that are growing up now than anything else.
response to Luna | Reviewer: Adam Grr | 8/6/07
Luna,
I believe this song to be a satire of our civilization. A commentary on this sad state of affairs. Perhaps Nickelback feels the same way you do.
SCORN | Reviewer: Mr. Moustache | 8/4/07
I have ALWAYS hated Nickelback. They're the definition of meaningless, empty music. It's so sad what music has come to these days. I'm 22 and I long for the the days of ACTUAL punk, ACTUAL "grunge", the '90s, and altogether, music that actually had meaning; music that meant something, that moved you. Nickelback has brought tears to my eyes, honestly, when they're on the radio, cue to the fact that they're ON THE RADIO! It's not an anger I have for/towards them, it's honest depression. They, and SO MANY other newer bands, not only make me lose all hope and faith in music, but all hope and faith in life itself. Their fans may say "They've affected my life so profoundly!", and the have for me as well - they're a band I would DIE FOR; not because I'm a fan, but because I'd rather perish in the most horrific way, after being forced to watched people I love and care for be tortured and killed, than listen to a half of a half of a second of any music by Nickel-cocksucking-back. This comes from the deepest region of my heart and soul.
i agree | Reviewer: Brandon | 8/5/07
i agree with all of the people above in some way i like everything about the song except the lyrics. he talks about wanting to be a drug addict like 5 times and he also implys that he wants to be like a little hooker by talkin about the playboy people and and i also hate when he says hes gonna lip sync thats retarded too. so i like the song but not the lyrics...im on the fecne.
great song! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/3/07
ive always liked nickelback and this song is so true! we always hear about stars getting caught with drugs and being anorexic. i think its a good song!!
Terrible | Reviewer: Luna | 8/2/07
This song epitomizes everything I hate about western society. What a wasteful, horrible mindset.
not a fan but love this song | Reviewer: Jacob | 8/1/07
I am not a big Nickelback fan but I love this song. I find it very funny and not depressing unlike most of their songs.
