I also find it funny how people commenting this did not catch onto the fact that this song is actually mocking the popular people. High school is such a silly, shallow place. Caricature | Reviewer: Understanding | 6/30/09 This song isn't really that hard to understand - it's a caricature of a misguided outlook on life where ones values are based on shallow, transitory matters which will have little to no bearing on life (and usually only do to those who delude themselves in to thinking anyone else holds such a high opinion of them). Take the line about, "Being attractive is the most important thing..." Hate to let those young enough not to realize it, your looks will fade with time, you will not stay as thin as you are now, you may loose your hair boys, you may loose your figure girls. Even if you maintain it for a time, eventually you will succumb to the same processes we all do in life. So, if you evaluate worth on narrow, narcissistic criteria which will wane with time, what do you have left? If you're an awful human being, your looks leave you, but who and what you are generally doesn't. Hence why he speaks most of the lines in a manic, crazed manner - it's a form of delusional behavior in the end. It's definately not about how twisted popularity is, and I don't even think it's bad (but that's only my opinion). It's about breaking up with people, and even if it's a short amount of time, if you make the break up all emotional, it will make the person being dumped more emotional, and if you just say "It's over", it may seem insensitive, but people are very able to forget about it if you are that direct. I believe this is very true, I was in this same situation. And I guess the rest is about popularity, like tell Johhny Football Star he did great in the game, because that just means you're being nice to somebody who's popular, I mean if you're a dick to one of the most popular guys in school you're not really helping your image.
