The Doors/Gogol Bordello Juxtaposition | Reviewer: Coley | 8/23/07
"Mama" sounds eerily like a combination of The Doors' "Alabama Song" and Gogol Bordello's "Start Wearing Purple". Just a fun observation.

my thought of the song | Reviewer: Tin-Tin | 7/29/07
for some odd reson i get the felling that this song is about World War 1..... Because some parts reflect big parts from the First World War and the Mama part in my mind is one of the final letters to his mother. Like one part at the end he say's " we all carry on when our Brothers in Arms are gone" which in my mind is the after the war when some people would have horrable flash backs of seeing commrads dying. Also the part " You aint no son of mine for what you'v done" may be reflicting on the whole "No Man's Land" when people would run out to a patch not much bigger than a football field to get to another trench were most of them would get there legs blowen off from heavy gun fire so that may be the ampution part also the " Rase your glass high for tomorror we dye" part... but that's my thought on the song.
My Opinion | Reviewer: memoriesofnight@yahoo.com | 7/19/07
I love this song so much, it's one of my favorite MCR songs ever. When I first heard it, I guess I took it differently then other people (and how it really is). I felt like it could be...symbolism (for lack of a better term) of the artist's view of the world (actually the U.S. was my first thought, not to bash the States, it's the best place I've ever lived...not that I lived anywhere else though), not his mother. Like he's angry at the world because of all of the violence and other things, and he's basically saying what our actions are gonna do (lies, killing, death, hell)
"She said you aint no son of mine
For what you've done they're gonna find
A place for you
And just you mind you're manners when you go"
This part (again, only in my opinion) is like the Earth saying this to the people whose committing the crimes. And "the place" is Hell.
Well, anyway that's just my opinion. And it kindda makes me like the song more =P

Haters | Reviewer: EB | 7/2/07
So many people dismiss this music with not a second thought. I guess some get joy from different things than others.
The problem I see is that most people just dismiss it by saying the people who love this music like to wallow in sadness.
Not true. Such expression makes both the artist and thier audience happier. When someone strikes a chord with themselves and their audience they create a kind of synergy that results in pure joy, elation; possibly euphoria?
This is how I feel about this song. :3
Awesome | Reviewer: Haven | 6/25/07
I'm a big MCR fan and I love all their songs, but this song is one of my favorites. I can really relate to it, too. XD It's a great song and, hopefully, I'll be able to hear them live someday.
