someone always brings up "emo" when MCR is brought up. frankly, ya i guess they might be a little emo but who cares. the music is good. the lyrics are dark yes, but are good and have depth. If anything this is a bad song to judge MCR on. the songs "Thank You For the Venom" and "It's Not a Fashion Statement its a Deathwish" are about how rising from the bottom and overcoming being "emo". MCR does not but tell people NOT to be "emo" bc its a fucking social, political, and psychical deathwish.

FTW not to mention this band started in the early 2000's and are young, they have plenty of room to grow and develop. the singer will get better with time. as will the drummer, guitars. they will learn to play more and more cords until at one point they possibly become the next Metallica. this is proven throughout history. PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT.

learn about the entire band, beyond just singles, beyond just instruments. the meanings are in the lyrics.

Seriously, this song and band are amazing,

but since emo is usually considered a "self harming shitty person", how can you possibly desicribe mcr as that?
When has Gerard or any of the band members said "You wanna cut yourself? Go for it!"
They haven't, because they want their fans, and everyone to respect themselves,

Everyone can't agree on ONE definition of emo, so until then, don't you think you could hold off the stereotyping and let everyone enjoy there music without the assholes interferring?

To me there are different kinds of emo, hardcore emos cut themselves and try suicidal high flying stunts off their trampoline, I don't know what to call my type but we just feel shitty all day not giving a shit, and look for things like music that represent us. MCR is one of the bands that helps us explain what we feel because they've been through almost the same stuff, like papa roach. I feel like papa roach could be considered emo but someone else could think differently, like someone could also think everything I just said is total bull shit and I won't give a shit. You cant say opinions are wrong.

my chemical romance plays does play emo music, but i doubt theyre emo. btw emo doesnt just stand for emotional, but emotionally distubed so yes they cut themselves and r close 2 suisidal. and gothics r the one's who rn't active and just sit around all day h8ing themselves.

there more like a new form of emo tho, they play rock music but look emo so they can get differnt people liking them. But i really do love MCR and i am emo myself but i dont go round cutting my self i love to live life full of energy.

one of my fav songs from one of the best of bands. love the lyrics "tell me i'm a bad man kick me like a stray" it gives an image <3
my other fav songs gotta be 'Heaven Help Us' and 'This is How i Disappear' oh and 'Sharpest Lives' and ...oh grr i'd list them all lol if i continued now that i think about it <3 Long live MCR!

Just for the record, even Gerard Way HIMSELF hates emo:

this has to be one of my favorite songs. who else hates it when someone labels you emo just because you listen to mcr music? HALF OF THOSE PEOPLE NOT ONLY DONT GIVE THEM A CHANCE BUT ALSO WOULDNT UNDERSTAND WHAT THE LYRICS ARE ABOUT. this songs lyrics are a little hard to understand but the lyrics and music is really good. and ray toro is the best god dang guitarist ever(!) with awesome hair!

Anyway, I absolutely love My Chemical Romance. This song has a lot of energy and has become one of my favorites.
