It has every emotion in it, the strongest being love. It also holds sorrow, fear, rage, and ecstasy. It is an extremely beautiful song. I have heard a lot of negative feedback about this song from several people, who claim that it is too angry and violent and dark. But it is a reflection of the world, a world that a young grunge band like MCR must understand if they are to become a success, a world that is filled abundantly with sorrow, rage and ecstasy in its own places. The only healing aspect of the world is love, which rises out of the song at peaks like a dwindling bird whose wings refuse to break. The priest in William Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" told the two lovers that "these violent passions often come to violent ends, so love moderately" (my quotation may not be exact - if so, I apologize). The truth is, Romeo and Juliet cannot love moderately. Their impassioned love is why they are Romeo and Juliet. But their love destroyed them. But it's worth it. Love has to be worth destruction, otherwise what is there to live for? MCR is expressing this truth in this song, that love is a destructive force that is worth risking everything, especially life. I don't think it's about pure beautiful love, I think it's about dark sinister love between two people have lost themselves completely and found traces of themselves in eachother, but not in a good way. To me it's like it's two very disturbed people who are very very bad for eachother but the rest of the world doesn't understand them individually or as a pair and their relationship and the only way they won't be so bad for eachother is if they aren't in this world so in the darkest of circumstances, they choose to leave it together. I kind of think maybe the boy is the driving force in this and the girl is a puppet who just wants instructions from someone, anyone who understands her... how many times have I felt like one of these two and never could I articulate it with a story like this - MCR get a lot of crap for being "emo" or "immature" or whatever, but I think this song is clever and beautiful and completely gut-wrenching! The lovers get In a huge gunfight with these western people in the resturaunt. The lovers escape, the police arrested the western people, the lovers get shot and die.
