Wow | Reviewer: BL | 4/3/09
I love how everyone seems to think this song focuses on the US government. I also love how the liberals are writing 8 paragraph essays on why they hate Bush and why this son is about him :D
This could be about Hitler for all we know, yeah?
I think it's a great song, all of Muse's lyrics are absolutely stunning, inspiring, and completely imperial.
Ought not believe your government | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/31/09
Barack Obama
Same shit
Different face
(Different race)
I know a lot of people still think that the government and the candidates that run for presidency or congress are people like the masses, you and me. All of them work together. Election is a big farce that tries to make people believe they still have a choice.
It is because we believe that we have a choice that makes us complacent. If a president screws up, it is our fault for electing him. But this is not so. I think the last legitimately good-willed candidate was Ron Paul. The last legitimate president was JFK. He declared that he did not support secret societies, then he was assassinated.
There is a movie on Barack Obama. I think it is called the Obama Deception. Anyways, google it, but the president to the test and only after that, if you still support him and believe he is a harbringer of good, then you know your opinion and perceptiveness is strong.
Consider with an open mind | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/31/09

"What warms my heart are the US snipers in Afghanistan and Iraq who tap their feet to songs like this one, as they carry out the Lord's work."
Is any one else greatly disturbed by this statement?
I recommend investigating any opposing view with an open mind and then making an informed judgement after which.
There are many sources of different information and view points to be genuinely considered. Such as this one:
9/11 as a false flag tactic (which is very hard to swallow and nobody would like to believe), that set off a determination against and fear of terrorism. Much information can be readily found, especially from unions of architects and engineers, that the twin towers and the third building fell on account of explosives set off in the basement at the time of the plane crash.
The false flag is a common tactic used throughout history to rally support for military and government agendas. Though not the same exactly, a tactic like this was employed with Pearl Harbour. The US had knowledge of the attack to come, especially with every other country warning them of messages they had intercepted being passed by the Japanese. The US at the time had no support from its people to be involved in the war. So instead of evacuating Pearl Harbour from the known threat, nothing was said. After this event the people of America were rallied and passionate to fight in the war. And profit was made.
Anyways, you have to do your research and explore different view points. The truth is never readily available or widely known. Opening up your mind , removing your biases, and considering all the possibilities is essential in bettering everything around you.
Corruption, misinformation, and brainwashing is rampant in today's culture and I hope that everyone is keeping a perceptive mind and an open heart.
Please don't believe that your government has your interests in mind. Always question everything. Nothing is "just the way it is".
losers who still defend bush | Reviewer: optional jones | 3/28/09
Really, all of you? Stop trying to rewrite history -- then again, some of the people on here complaining that Americans are lazy idiots are vindicated in their generalization only if they add the qualifier "Bush supporter".
They nearly pushed this country and world to the brink of annihilation -- and may yet succeed. Good job, guys. I'll save the manifesto that I could put together to argue you nameless creatures and put it in a book instead!
He's not so bad | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/23/09
It seems to me that Marxist theory has managed to push all other reasons for war aside in the last 50 years, leaving only economic reason. Whatever happened to Nationalism, or Social Darwinism, or even normal disgust in atrocious acts? Like it or not, the Iraq War, whether it was for Oil or to fight terrorists or whatever, did a good thing. In my opinion, Bush is one of the least deserving of the have heaped upon him in the history of the world. He probably did decide to invade Iraq for humanitarian reasons, but Vietnam and Watergate have scarred the American psyche so deeply that I believe that it will be many more years before we can trust anything at face value again (not that that is necessarily a good thing, a grain of salt is always helpful)
Honestly people... | Reviewer: Zashiwara | 3/19/09
Okay...Bush is a human. Humans tend to make mistakes he isn't necessarily "stupid." He isn't "the worst thing to happen to our country." First of all: Iraq had just about the worst, most unstable country in the world. Bush saved lives and brought joy to a depressed and totally screwed nation by having our military there to help them. And really...Obama? Nowhere near the best option for this nation. He is a great man I will not deny, but simply because he is "change" is no reason for him to be praised like he's sent from heaven itself. Really, there should have been a none-of-the-above option on the 2009 ballots and they just get a batch better for presidency. Also look at the other parties. Dems and reps aren't the only cars at the dealership...look at everyone. You aren't going to get a second car for another 4 years. People moan "Oh but not enough people vote for'em." Yeah? If you inspire people and they each inspire 3 people and so on and so forth, soon you got 30 more votes. Then 90. then 270. See how that spreads?
Good song though. Yeah, like you Dannyboy, not too fond of the lyrics, but just change a few and you've go something good there.
Um... | Reviewer: Emily | 3/15/09
I'm not neccessarily the biggest fan of him but, here's how I viewed Bush's response to terrorism:
Well, for someone put in such a position as him, he did as best as he could. You can't blame him for trying. What would you do if a terrorist attacked your 300 million followers and they all came crying and complaining to you to do something about it?
Yeah.
Oh, c'mon guys. You can do better than this. | Reviewer: Alex | 3/5/09
It's for the American and Iraqi soldiers and terrorists. It's for a corrupt government and the ignorant people that supports it.
That Muse would sing a song for Bush, what a superficial thought. Get real. The ones moving him are a lot more intelligent and greedy than that ugly little man.

You can't blame America for having a bad leader, everyone has one once in a while. For the past eight years I have hated living in America because of Bush, so that in school I didn't even say the Pledge of Alligence. However, Barack Obama is a sign of tremdous change in not only America but also the world. He is a sign of hope and that America can once again be the sign of freedom. I hate to argue, especially over such debatable topics like this one since I do know that Bush was a bad president. Bush was completely single-minded, but by stereotyping Americans as fat, lazy, and stupid then you too are close minded just like him and his administration. I'm proud to be American because of what our founding fathers stood for.

The state of the Union is weak. | Reviewer: K | 2/23/09
Well here we were thinking this was about fighting Al Qaeda, but let's get real. Opportunism was all it was. Military operations that had been drawn up by the Pentagon for strategic reasons and of course for imperial/mercantile reasons.
Look , I don't pretend to know every reason the criminal Federal government went in there, but I know what we were told was a complete farce.
Anyway I have my doubts these will still be the United States of America in a decade. There will still be states, but whether or not D.C. has any influence is questionable.
The state is a sovereign entity first and foremost and D.C. get its authority from the states, not vice versa. Lincoln was a tyrant who began the disaster we have today by usurping the Constitution. Don't believe everything you read in the history books written by the victors.
