is an amazing band.
and i agree that they were wayy amazing before twilight came out. i dont like twilight at all. bbut this song is perhaps very enlightning to listen to. starlight is still a far better song though.

to 'a muse fan WAY before twilight': for starters, twilight didn't really explode Muse's profile, they were already massive due, in part, to tracks like Hysteria/Time is Running Out, but largely due to Starlight, which got tons of radio play and made them far more internationally famous. Twilight did expand their fanbase a little maybe, but it isn't the reason they're playing MTV, it's because MTV would molest babies if it thought it would make them money. Also, Radiohead already had a song on Twilight: 15 step, during the credits. So the idea that Radiohead are doing it because they want some of the action can't be right. The real problem with Muse being in the Twilgiht soundtrack is that they could have picked a far better song!
Oh yeah, God FORBID that someone discovers band via a movie, no matter how "crappy" that movie may be | Reviewer: A Muse fan WAY before Twilight | 8/9/09
Get over yourselves, you posers. You guys are no better than the people that claim to like Muse because of Twilight. Muse gained a HORDE of new fans because of a blockbuster film, is that such a bad thing? I discovered Muse by watching their "Starlight" video on Fuse, if Fuse was considered "uncool" to watch, would that make me lame by discovering an awesome band through that network? Come on people, grow up and get a life. The people that heard SBH through Twilight will look for the song, find it on the BH&R album, listen to the album, like the album, listen to the other albums, and then like Muse as a whole and become converted Muse fans. Where's the downside in that? And even for the people that ONLY like SBH, by liking the song, they blew up Muse's profile and they end up finally getting the recognition they deserve. Why do you think Muse will be performing at the MTV Video Music Awards? Because MTV cares about indie artists at this point? No, because of their popularity among Twilight fans. And because of that, Muse will be opening doors not just for themselves, but for other indie bands as well, to be introduced to mainstream audiences who would appreciate some of the good, underground acts out there. And by the way, Radiohead will have a song featured on New Moon. Sounds to me like they've seen how having a song featured in Stephanie Meyers' film served Muse pretty damn well, and now they want some of that as well.
The Whole Muse - Twilight Thing | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/7/09
I'll admit, I'd never heard of Muse before Twilight. I started listening to the music and fell in love with the band after hearing it in the movie. I'm not one of the people who are like "OMG Muse wrote an awesome song for the Baseball scene!!" I happen to know that the song came out long before Twilight, thank you very much. I'm not ignorant.
Now that I've admited all of that, I can say this without someone taking it wrong. I FREAKING LOVE MUSE!!!
I'm done now.
twilight movie....ruins everything.. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/3/09
muse's music goes waayyyy above supermassive black hole. it's sad that many people only know them because of that one song which i consider quite misplaced on their album but the rest of it is GREAT!!which makes up 100%...man, take a bow and invincible are my favorites!!! but yeah, darn twilight because it makes muse look like a band that only produces songs for a bunch of silly vampires playing "thunder"ball...lol...ah well, the books are good so i guess i have to suck it up. go twilight(books) and MUSE!
terrible | Reviewer: citizenerased | 7/16/09
this is by far the worst Muse song, and it's really disappointing to see it as one of their most popular all because of the Twilight saga. this sounds nothing at all like any of their other songs, with the exception of micro cuts, which also god awful. Muse has written some amazing songs, and I'm really looking forward to their new cd, and they rock live. they're an awesome band, and it's a bummer that this is their most recognized song right now.
no way twilight extra gay | Reviewer: kraidos360 | 7/16/09
seriously twilight is one of the gayest movies i ever seen and muse is a great fuckin band i love the hell outta them they were nice enough to let them use the song to a really gay scene, cmon dont fuck with muse like that and they're to good for fuckin twilight extra gay movie once again dont fuck with the groove, and especially hysteria oh almost forgot one of my faves that i always dedicate to chix haha well some pink ego box anoher great song plug in baby and in your world oh and map of the problematique... emos of twilight have enough bands dont fuck up muse
THIS SONG WAS NOT MADE JUST FOR TWILIGHT | Reviewer: Jade | 7/14/09
Dont ever get me wrong, I love twilight, Stephanie Meyers did an incredible job on the BOOK. However, it annoys me to NO end when people give something or someone credit where in this case it is due to something entirely different. Im suprised Muse was good enough to let them use the song. I adore Muse, and it just annoys me when some fangirls refer to it as 'the baseball song from twilight' I am a huge fan of twilight, but I mean, come on, listen to these guys their so much better then that
Great song | Reviewer: Twilighter | 7/4/09
Okay we all love Twilight. I'm absolutley obsessed, so other fans, dont take this as an insult.
Muse was a band waaay before Stephenie Meyer even had that medow dream (which must've been beautiful cause it was about sparkly Edward *drool*). They were famous before Twilight.
And yes, I know it was awesome in the baseball scene. I thought so too.
But every time I look up a video or the lyrics for this song, almost every comment says:
"WOO HOO! I LUV TWILIGHT!"
And in my brain,I shout:
"WOO HOO! I LUV MUSE!"
And ten seconds later I shout:
"WOO HOO! I LUV TWILIGHT!"
So don't take this as an insult. I'm a total twilight lover. I can't get through the day with out my daily Edward fix.
I just wanted to say, give the band a little more credit.
I <3 Twilight. And Muse.
Muse | Reviewer: Anonymous | 6/30/09
I always knew the songs knights of cydonia and starlight. But i was turned on to the band and all their songs when I found out
while reading twilight muse greatly influenced her after reading the special thanks so I am guilty of the same crime here as
everyone else. but i'm so grateful for finding them because their
music is so unlike anything else that current bands are trying to
sell to the music scene these days I'm a huge clash and sex pistols fan and muse is one of the only relevant bands whoreally appeals to me thanks muse! So my recommendations for muse songs are
1. Apocalypse please
2. The small print
3. Hyper Music
4. Sing for absolution
5. New born

OK..first off, | Reviewer: Anomymous | 6/24/09
I love this song, and I also found out about Muse from the aknowledgements at the end of BOOK twilight, and because of how the author matched up so many things I like, I checked out the band. I listened to a lot of their songs and have liked how they're not all the same with different words unlike a lot of other bands...
BTW! I didn't even want to see the movie twilight because it ruins your perspective and opinions you had before they told you what it should look like. It's too commercial. They seriously have twilight barbie dolls now.
But anyway, this isn't the only song from Muse, and if it's the only one you've heard because of twilight, keep looking, you might find one that fits you perfectly! ;P Take A Bow,Hysteria, and this one of course...
*sigh* | Reviewer: Anonymous | 6/22/09
True. All the Twilighters make Muse look so...commercial. In fact, though. They're such an original band in every aspect of their music. Now, I discovered Muse via Stephenie Meyer. I believe it was a few years ago, when the first Twilight book came out. Girlfriend made me read it, and I actually found it pretty good. Looked through Meyer's "special thanks" list, and there they were. I'm a musician, primarily a drummer and bassist; so, I instantly fell in love with the licks and rolls. HAARP was a friggin' masterpiece. Never heard a band more true-to-self live.
twilight and stuff | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/23/09
id herd of muse before in passing but never really got into it untill twilight, agreeable it was good in the baseball scene and i think of that song but muse has so many other great songs that have nothing to do with twilight. i downloaded more muse and like other songs alot more than this one so even though im not die hard love them forever, twilight let more people know about them. plus it made them money. who cares how they herd it as long as they understand the song.
2 or 3 songs???? | Reviewer: Andre | 5/5/09
Robin, it would be very hard to name 2 or 3 good Muse songs. I could easily end up naming 20 or 30 so I will basically give you my Top 5 by album (not in any particular order)
Showbiz: Sunburn, Muscle Museum, Cave, Showbiz, Unintended
Origin Of Symmetry: New Born, Bliss, Plug-In Baby, Citizen Erased, Micro Cuts
Absolution: Apocalypse Please, Our Time Is Running Out, Stockholm Syndrome, Hysteria, Butterflies & Hurricanes
Black Holes & Revelations: Starlight, Map Of The Problematique, Assassin, Exo-Politics, Knights Of Cydonia.
Honorable Mentions: Hate This & I'll Love You, Hyper Music, Megalomania, The Small Print, Thoughts Of A Dying Atheist, Ruled By Secrecy, Take A Bow, Invincible, City Of Delusion.
There are also a number of b sides and other great songs that weren't included in albums like Glorious, Dead Star, Futurism, Shrinking Universe and many more.
My personal Tops 5 Muse songs would be:
1. Butterflies & Hurricanes
2. Glorious
3. Stockholm Syndrome
4. Citizen Erased
5. Cave
