wow, really? | Reviewer: lauren | 11/24/08

hmm... i <3 muse, and some briteny songs arent bad, but unfortunately the one called "do somethin" is really reatarded... however, i can see the similarities between the beginnings of the two songs. i think muse took a good idea that britneys managers had and made it worth listening to!

uhh... | Reviewer: blahh | 11/22/08

wow great song! :D
i remember hearing this in the baseball scene in Twilight
and thats what made me search it
i never knew muse sang this, well they did a great job
and Spears does not sound anything like Muse!
oh and also..
MUSE ROCKZ! XD

p.s.
yes comparing muse to britney is like comparing a sun to a fart XD

peace :)

Ok, | Reviewer: MuseFan | 8/20/08

There's no doubt about it this song is poppy, and electronica influenced. So they decided to go a different direction. So they decided to try something new. They ALWAYS try something new.

In all honesty, I can't give a shite about the recording. But seeing it played live is probably one of their many highlights in their performances. Especially seeing as he changes the break with his Kaoss Pad.

Also, playing this song is another thing entirely. Simple, yet incredibly fun. And for laughs, try singing.

It's impossible to create a song, without having certain elements incorporated from other musicians or artists. Look at Kanye West's "Stronger", Kid Rock's "All Summer Long". Bellamy said it himself.

But somehow, he found out a way to create his own unique sound. And that's incredible.

Muse is one of those bands that keeps on changing. You have to accept that, and at the same time, you have to keep up.

And in any case, aren't we all Muse fans? Wouldn't we love them regardless of what comes out? Abandoning a band because they turned "too poppy" for your taste is absolute shite. And Muse won't turn poppy. Ever.

Muse...they make a difference. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/21/08

True, this isn't my favorite song of all time, nor is it Muse's sparkling gem. But hey, they tried something different, and I respect them for that. Besides, I think it came out pretty niiiiiice. :P It gets stuck in your head.
And as for the Britney comparison...I can see similarities, but it's no reason to scream "plagiarism". Muse still managed to incorporate their own unique style. Also, I believe that they have more talent than Britney Spears ever did, even when she wasn't a screaming crazy crackwhore.
Rock on, Muse.

First of all, think about their name..MUSE. They get inspiration from other peoples work. In one of their songs, they take a bit from Rhapsody in Blue. It's not like they are copying, but incorporating different ideas into their music. They get musical inspiration from it. So if some music sounds a bit like Britney's background music...I wouldn't put it past them. I'm not degrading them. I love MUSE and went to one of their shows. They are hardcore and their music is worth listening to and appreciating. If you don't like it, don't post stupid shit degrading other people and their views. Kindly state your opinion about the song and move on.

This is not pop... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/11/07

Have any of you guys actually listen to pop rock? It sounds like recycled trash, to me at least.
This song sounds nothing like it. It is one of my favorite songs in existence, and the first Muse song I've ever heard. Just go fuck yourself if you really think this is Britney Spears-esque...

muse vs britney | Reviewer: kendall | 9/18/07

hm. when i first heard smbh i was listening... listening.. and i thought.. "sounds kind of familiar". it does have the same sound in the beginning as do somethin'. u guys are all super biased because u think britney is a sluuuut. and she is. but this isnt any different from when jessica simpson stole the beginning to jack n diane for boy i think that im in love with you or when RHCP stole maryjane's last dance for dani california. deal with it.
