that, yes, the meaning is versatile, it can mean what it needs to for each person, but maybe we need to reach deeper and see how accurately it portrays our world. how amazing that a song, sung by the right person, said in the right way, can be so forward and yet vague in its translation. whatever it means, 'sing for absolution'is a beautiful work of art.

umm for those that think this song is about romance and love. You are wrong! I know, i know, each person can interpret it differently blah blah blah. But Matt intended this song to be about how humanity doesnt learn it's mistakes and will forever be damned. "You, your" in this song refers to our planet Earth, not some random chick :D. Just my 2 cents

it hurts every time i hear this incredible song, because, as it is Muse, he can't help but sound as if he's really feeling such agony and passion when he sings this song. and thats why i loved it. it really sounds incredibly genuine. it has a certain wild, haunting beauty to it, and i absolutely loved hearing this live in Inglewood.

There's a book called New Moon, and the author has a playlist of what songs go with her story. This is one of them ... and it breaks my heart when I hear it because of the book.
good song | Reviewer: joey | 2/12/07
sounds
like singing of killing the one you cant have,
then,
knowing there is no way out of it,
killing oneself
song is sung at that moment when all love is replaced with knowledge of having gone too far,
asking for forgiveness, then realizing, its all gone
"Our wrongs remain unrectified
And our souls won't be exhumed"
game over.

i never liked this song before I watched the video, I found it boring and preffered more upbeat, heavier Muse songs like Plug In Baby and The Groove. However, after watching the video all the way through and listening to the song it is brilliant. The line "Our wrongs remain unrectified and our souls will not be exhumed" is so powerful its amazing.
bloody immense, muse are the best band on the planet and there is NO doubt about it. Matt Bellamy is GOD!!!

I love this master art. I moves me soulfully and fills my heart with devotion. It is sombre yet mournfully filling. Muse is off the charts!
