People (like he who wrote "song not about lovers" below) have become obsessed with the Music Video rather than the actual song. I agree with Beatriz that this song has importance for lovers. My partner and I adore this song. 'Invincible' in no way suggests it is only to do with world unity against oppression, it is less specific, it is about unity of any form - especially during hardship. Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't two lovers a form of unity? And do they not at times experience hardship? The lyrics are far more important than the Video Clip and that goes for any song. Even if you remain to be fixated on the Video Clip, perhaps you'll notice at the end there are two lovers side by side. Sorry everyone but I had to have a rant about that point. The way I see this song, it is Matt's way of saying that even in spite of all the apocalyptic and dark themes he expresses in many of their songs, part of him still believes that the world can prevail because "together we're invincible." I have to give it up for Bellamy. Out of all the outstanding songs by muse, this is the one that relates the most to me. The video draws you in like you can't believe. The guitar, bass, drums, and of course vocals are all completely amazing during this song, and every other of course. Chris&Dom is a fantastic musician too. But the biggest intervence in this song is the man,Matt Bellamy. He's really genius to mix those lyrics into those great music. I'd say that the song is about standing up against tyranny (that's the idea you get if you watch the video- it shows different populations standing up for themselves and fighting oppression), but I also like the lover's interpretation- it hepled me a lot when I was having problems with my boyfriend. ..but anyway, great song, greatest band of our time. hooray for muse. invincible. | Reviewer: christopherrr. | 3/24/08 I think at the end of the day a song means something different to each person that hears it and if someone has an opinion of it being about what they want it to be then no one should ruin that for them. Some may think it's about two lovers and others may think differently because of the video. Sometimes videos do not relate to the song as shown in many songs nowadays but just because to you it may show relevance it doesn't mean that the next persons opinion is wrong. I'm not sure myself what the song is about but from the video I agree with some peoples thoughts about it being about the world and the human race and about the two lovers theory, from the lyrics that's what I would have thought before viewing the video. Perhaps Matt Belamy wanted people to think a lot about the song and wanted different thoughts from it and maybe there are a lot of reasons behind it and its not all just about one thing. I agree with the comment below The video shows, robot invasions, terrorist attacks and people using violence. So the song is about changing the human way of life, and uniteing to survive. The lines "Don't be afraid What your mind conceives You should make a stand Stand up for what you believe" are my favouriutes in the song. because i have a very wierd belief of whats going on in this world. and why we are here. which i wont go into, due to the ammount of stick i will probably get. but I will always stand up for what i believe. even if itis me, and only me who believes it. All of their lyrics are so powerfull and they have createded much inspriation. Invincible is one the best of their songs i would say. It just goes to show how creative they really are. And what the lyrics are trying to say ( this is what my perseption feild of them is ) is that everyone is diferent and that you have the right to tell the world the things which you strongly believe and that you should change things for the better. And that the things you think are not wrong, just because other people believe they are does not meen that they are correct. My girlfriend and I are in a very rough time, and this song is just inspiration to work together to be whole again. Together we ae invincible.
