Why Does It Matter? | Reviewer: JR502 | 3/1/09

I agree that listening to one some (SMBH) and claiming to be a fan of muse is absurd...that means you like the somg, not the band as a whole... but its ridiculous for original Muse fans to be so hateful to people who discovered muse through twilight...that kind of means you like the title of original muse fan more then you like the band... if someone first hears of muse through the albums and then listens to other muse songs and albums and falls in love with their music i feel like that gives them just as big of a right to claim to be a fan of muse a any other true fan. Its not about how you discover the music, its about the love of the music. its not a fight and anyone trying to make it out to be one whether you are on the "twilight side" or the "original fan side" is making it something muse would never want it to be. Its about the music, not the way you came upon it.

Beautiful song | Reviewer: panic | 2/28/09

This song is the one most beautiful song ever to me. This song has lots of feeling and is very creative (as all Muse songs).

And yeah, twilight can suck my balls. Doesn't mean I hate people who like Muse because of that movie, but most of them have only heard up to 3 Muse songs.
However, it still pisses me off that Muse's song appears in Twilight.

But oh well, Falling Away With You is a beautiful song.

Absolution is, and forever will be, one of my favourite albums -- particularly of Muse.

Which is why I get frustrated when I hear people talking about Supermassive Black Hole as the "best song eva" and hearing about how because of their link to Twilight, Muse is "so totally awesome".

And JohnnyB -- The first Muse song I ever listened to [on my brother's advice to "improve my piano"] was "Apocalypse Please". It's definitely something I recommend new Muse fans listen to.

seriously | Reviewer: melon | 2/25/09

i understand that a lot of people who discovered muse before twilight are pissed that teenage girls are suddenly muse "fans" becuz of smbh, but try and see it from my perspective;

before i first read twilight, i wasnt all that interested in music. sure, there were songs i liked, but it just wasnt a big part of my life. i hadnt realized at the time how big the twilight fandom was (this was before the movie) and i really just loved the books. so i visited stephenie meyers website, where i first heard tiro. after listening to it a few times, it really started growing on me. there was something very different from the mainstream crap in america about it, so i looked into the band some more.

after hearing plug in baby, i was hooked. muse got me interested in music, and theyre now my favorite band. twillight may have died for me when the fandom got way out of control, but i will always owe my new love for music and favorite band to twilight.

so dont say EVERYONE who found muse through twilight isnt a real fan. i am so sick of getting "oh youre one of THOSE fans" when really i love muse just as much as the rest of you.

Okaaaay... | Reviewer: Mel | 2/25/09

So here's a question...

I FIRST heard Muse on Twilight, but I actually made an effort to get to know alot of their other songs...I did my research and I can honestly say "Supermassive Black Hole" isn't my favorite song.

But since I first heard it on Twilight does that mean I'm not a real fan? Because I really like the band and think its utterly and completely awesome...and I'm pretty sure that the band doesn't mind the extra publicity.

(And for the record: I have read the Twilight books, and yes, I like them and personally didn't LIKE the Twilight movie, but in the books you can actually see alot of Meyer's inspiration from Muse. Sorry, its true.)

I love this piece of art | Reviewer: Parorou | 2/26/09

I absolutely love this song. Very, very touching, always makes me cry.
Love how it starts with that soft guitar and Matt singing, then raises in the chorus and just at the midle falls again, raises and falls again at the end with Matt singing what was the very first verse, and the guitar fading along with Matt's voice. Beautiful. A whole esperience. Muse, is without any doubt, the best band I've ever known. "Matt Bellamy is a lyrical genius", and a singing genius as well, seriously. I think so.

And please, please stop that stupid fight about that Twilight thing. Muse is great and incredibly artistic, it doesn't matter how you get to know them. But don't say you love Muse just because you heard Supermassive Black Hole in a movie. That's either loving a book, a movie, or a song; but not loving a band.

Agree | Reviewer: E Kwiatkowski | 2/20/09

To JonnyB: I agree with you. If you saw twilight and think muse is cool by only listening to super massive black hole you are NOT a fan. Listen to songs like Plug in Baby, Sing for Absolution, Small Print, ect. The song falling away with you always makes me cry. Muse has songs that will touch you. (Not like your uncle vinny but your cousin jammie)

agreed. | Reviewer: Courtney | 2/19/09

I somewhat agree with Sanity, but i did discover Muse through the Twilight Soundtrack, so that got me interested. But i am a fan, because i absolutley love Muse and all their uniqueness.
"Matt Bellamy is a lyrical genius"
Is very very true.

Great, Great Acoustic Song. | Reviewer: JonnyB | 2/17/09

Sanity is right. I'm sorry Twilight fans, but we do feel like smacking you. I don't mind people finding out about a band after they're popular, lots of my friends didn't know Muse before Guitar Hero 3. But I seriously hate Twilight. And I don't think that Muse gave their music to Twilight to get more fans, they are not like that. Matt said he liked the books. So now, before you go Muse crazy because of SMBH, listen to New Born, The Small Print, Map of the Problematique... help me out here true Muse fans. What should the Twilighters listen to in order to have a right to say they like Muse?

I agree | Reviewer: Sanity | 2/13/09

"I hate people Relating Muse to The Twilight Series.
i hate the stupid "vampire" kids talking about how great muse is
and the only song they know is "Supermassive Black Hole"
i feel like smacking them.
so yeahh
if your a true muse fan youd understand and if you became a muse "Fan" after watching twilight you suckk"

I agree when I say I hate that people say they "love" Muse after they only heard one song. Yet if someone starts loving Muse after watching Twilight it's doesn't nessecarily make you "suck". Although I hated the movie, I think having a song in Twilight actually helped more people find out about Muse and how wonderful they are.

"Matt Bellamy is a lyrical genius"

Quoted for truth. (:
