The Reviews about I Have Forgiven Jesus (page 4/ 4)
------ performed by Morrissey
Morrisey needs an education | Reviewer: Dan | 2/14/07
The Catholic faith is built on guilt and works. In other words, they believe you have to do good works to get to heaven. I know, I was one. And the guilt is incredible that the religion puts on you.
It is the grace of God that we are "saved" from certain death, not works. We live in the age of grace. We are not saved by our works.
Jesus died for us so we do not have to bear the ultimate punishment, death. Sure, we may die in this life, but belief in the risen Christ will give us an ever-lasting life. God promises that.
Morrisey and others, should read a great book called "Don't Blame God."
Clearly, Jesus, nor God, are the authors of evil in this world, but Satan is. You have free will. Exercise it properly and judiciously. 1st person to email me, I will send a copy of "Don't Blame God" for free. Just promise that you will read it.
And I'll send it anywhere in the world for free.
not offensive | Reviewer: mel | 2/20/07
I am a Christian. I am not offended by this song. In fact, I think this is a really important song. It shows the damage that is done by overzealous religious types who forget that the most important thing is to love one another. How can the honest pain in someone's heart be offensive? You should be more offended by your lack of compassion.

very clever, brilliant song writting, well sung. I wasnt a morrissey fan before, but I am now. Jesus can handle it, I wouldnt worry about that.
Morrissey is a Faggot | Reviewer: Russ | 1/31/07
...and Morrissey is my favorite Faggot Poet (Favorite Poet, period). As for "I'll take legal action": You fucking nerd. Must I direct you to the plethora of child-porn sites and rape-themed porn sites, to convince you that no one can dictate the internet. If they could, don't you think that, for instance, that Osama Bin Laden feller would've been caught by now? He has had several of his videos circulated. Lastly, contrasting Jesus forgiving us, and Morrissy forgiving Jesus WAS the point; and it is exceedingly dense of you not to understand that.
As for the song, specifically: It is among a handful which are the most moving that I've ever experienced.

totally disagree | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/17/06
this song is about being ruthlessly (and without choice) being brought up as a catholic. it is totally inoffensive as it simply asks jesus why he has been given desires which the catholic religion commands he must suppress
i find the DEMAND to have it removed totally offensive. hitler was a dictator too mate. open your mind a bit. there is a difference between faith and plain overzealousness
AWFUL | Reviewer: karol4bunnies@netscape.net | 5/23/06
I think this is an awful song. It offends the Christian religion. Jesus died on
the cross for us. It is not we who should forgive Jesus, it is Jesus who is so
great for forgiving us because we are so sinful. But he loves us and forgives
us anyways. If you do not erase this song off the internet, I will be forcced
to take immeadiate action against you.
Today is the 23rd. I will come
back to this website in 1 week and if this song is not taken off I will take
legal action.
