The song is explaining that God does live in us and we are desperate without him.We as christians need to diligently seek the knowledge of God and that is the desperation.The song is saying that we will be lost if we fail to study the word. The desperation is the passion to read God's word and learn more and more. No one is perfect and should study the word of God more. God's name may not be present but it is the way that you embrace the song that ultimately changes the message. God bless. Yesterday I knew there was something wrong however when we started singing it. I looked at the words. I am lost without you.
