Hi all I heard this song for the first time in church yesterday and its wonderful and I agree with the words I am lost without him and I am desperate for him even though he is in my life being a christian is a daily thing, everyday we thank and praise him, we can fall into temptation or backslide it is not once a christian always a christian. if we love him so much we will be desperate enough to want to keep him close to us, I ramble on, I LOVE THE SONG WORDS AND EVERYTHING.

I can see what the anonymous writer had said about where is the names but there is the Lord in it as long as we are singing it to the Lord Jesus!Because people can make Satan lord of their lives.I like it but I would put The Trinity's name in it,or Our Father,Creator.It is a beautiful song though.

While I agree that we need to be absolutists in a world of relativism, this song gives no doubt as to whom it is addressed. What else would you refer to as "His Holy Presence" as the song says.Your girlfriend? Common, lets give credit where its due and as Bill said we need to shup up sometimes and listen.

This song is completely spiritual...do you know why? because as Jesus said: " fleshy people can´t understand spiritual things, but spiritual people understand what belongs to the Spirit". The composer was so involved with the Holy Ghost that, while writing, felt like talking to Him. That´s why His name is not mentioned: the connection is so strong, there´s no need to call God cause he´s with us while worshipping! Hallelujah.

I was pretty shocked when I read the comments written about the song by "Child of Christ". I just had to explain it. The song is explaining that God does live in us and we are desperate without him.We as christians need to diligently seek the knowledge of God and that is the desperation.The song is saying that we will be lost if we fail to study the word. The desperation is the passion to read God's word and learn more and more. No one is perfect and should study the word of God more. God's name may not be present but it is the way that you embrace the song that ultimately changes the message. God bless.

I have suffered through a trauma and felt like the walls were closing in. It also became a spiritual battle. This song gives me strength. It expresses my heart. His word feeds me daily. His presence carries me. I am desperate to know him and become like him.

I used to love this song. It would stick with me and bring about an emotional change when sung in the congregation. Yesterday I knew there was something wrong however when we started singing it. I looked at the words. I am lost without you. The way I had sung it and most christians sing it is knowing we are nothing without him. But we are not lost at all and why are we desperate for him who lives in us? I think this is just an emotional song of unbelief, it feeds that little voice from the enemy that wants us to believe we are lost and that we are desperate instead of the truth that we are found and he is in us, if we truly belong to Christ that is.

Be Still, and know that I Am God. You know how that translates into present day language? Shut up, and listen! Every time I hear this song, I lose myself in my Creator and Saviour. If you need to see and hear the words Jesus and God in every song that praises His Holy Name before you can accept it and deem it Holy, you aren't listening with your heart. My faith is all about believing, and trusting. I don't need a "sign" or words for everything I know about God. Just like I don't need to pull out the coins in my pocket and see them to know I have them in there, I can feel them... Hear this song again, and listen with your heart.
