The Reviews about The Outlaw Torn (page 1/ 2)
------ performed by Metallica

outlaw torn | Reviewer: GuitarHut | 10/28/09

This song rules. The S&M version proves to be the most powerful experience i've had, listening wise. HAHA and the solo Kirk does when it sounds like bombs are dropping-- is the shit! I love this song and also gives me chills when i hear it. I wish so much i was there to witness the performance with the orchestra. rock on!!

the song | Reviewer: K. L. K. | 10/23/09

this song is beautiful and another reason thrown at me to go ahead with my suicide, when you relate to song after song, not because you want to but because the songs are painstakingly true...those songs would be: The unforgiven I, this song, and fade to black; all such detailed descriptions of my life

Greatest heavy metal song | Reviewer: Buddhaspank | 10/14/09

This is hands down the greatest song ever written. Never understood peoples dislike for those load and reload albums...Just saw them live and its sad that neither of those albums make an appearance.

Awsome | Reviewer: Jazza | 8/4/09

I love this song, first time I heard it it literally blew me away. I love how Metallica's evolved over the years, though I'm a retatively new fan I love these guys, everything comes together so nicely in this song, James and Kirk on guitars and Jason on bass, and of course, the most outspoken of the band (also the funniest), Lars. I really think this is one of the best songs from the Load and Reload era, it's really sad how it never got the radio time it deserved....

Outlaw Fucking Torn | Reviewer: Drew | 5/10/09

This song is great. My 2nd favorite of all-time. S & M version is amazing and gives me chills. Was hoping they'd play it in Philly but they played it in another city.

And no one knows for sure what the song is about. But speculating at their hints has led most people to believe it is about Cliff and his mother and the pieces they were in his life that were all gone. He feels left out and alone without them, thus making James the "Outlaw Torn".

Emotional | Reviewer: Michael | 4/29/09

Not only are the lyrics emotional, but even the music is. From the quitars, to the bass, and even the drums. Of course Het's voice is emotional, for we all know what it is about (his mother), but everyone can relate to it in their own way. The whole song is a journey, that still gets me to this day. From the day I bought it on the day it came out, till the last time I hear it, whenever that will be

Stil my fav | Reviewer: gityerfix | 12/14/08

Despite coming on board the Metallica ship during the Justice days, there is something about this song that makes it my favorite still, after 11 years. The lyrics, the bass, the simple solos, the melody... not sure what it is exactly. Could be all of it. After hearing the unemcumbered version I always get disappointed to spend 10 minutes listening only to hear it fade out and realize I'm listening to the Load version. I long for the day to hear this song played in concert.

Stunning | Reviewer: Zeus | 1/4/08

First, with this song in it, how comes that everybody says that Load is a crap album?
This song is one of the best in rock, it's a classic.
And the lyrics, Papa Het is showing again that you can sing your heart out in a very beautiful way, although the song is so sad...

It help in some way... | Reviewer: Andreas | 12/8/07

I think it has a riff that gives me shiver and however it sound stupid i think the riff in the start, is a emotionel riff or something... It reminds me of my my ex, ... "The one who seeks so I may find
And now I wait my whole lifetime"

The Shit | Reviewer: HVT | 11/9/07

what else can you say about this song..every night when i go out i listen to it over and over again..It gives you that powerfull feeling..doesn't it ??
