seriously | Reviewer: james | 3/27/10
both great guitarists. rankings mean nothing, so stop busting those out. especially that rolling stone list, it's complete bullshit. it puts jack white above eddie van halen (who is number 70 some crazy how). also john petrucci, mikael akerfeldt and alexi laiho are absent from the list, yet somehow kurt cobain makes it, in a high position at that. mustaine is absent from the list, which is very unfair. same for james hetfield, if they can include joan f*cking jett because of her "rhythm playing" where the HELL is jaymz, he may not be a great lead player but he can play ridiculous rhythm with mechanical precision. love to see cobain try to play motorbreath. oh that's right, he killed himself. pussy.
Good | Reviewer: damn | 2/26/10
Good song, but i gotta agree with some of you guys here, Dave is a better guitarist than kirk(IMO ofc) but that dosnt change the fact that Kirk is better than 99.99996 of the all the guitarist in the world(thats good enough for me)... You have to have serious skills to play in Metallica right?
endless | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/28/10
would you people stop arguing who's the better guitarist?
Kirk Hammond is a beast yes, and Dave Mustaine is a talent of his own. Even though he got booted from the dream of his life, he used his talent to go on with his own projects.
You can't blame Kirk for Dave's miseries. Kirk had/has an enormous pressure on his shoulders, having to live up to the kind of material that Dave delivered. The same goes for Jason having to pick up the bass after Cliff left this world.
You people should be ashamed for being so obsessed with arguing instead of appreciating them both.
kirk is the best | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/20/10

Wtf? | Reviewer: Sebas | 12/14/09
Why is everyone bitching about kirk? man is an awesome guitar player and thats final, im not gonna argue bout who's better, kirk or dave, cause they have different styles. Seeing its supposed to be about this song, defo one of the coolest metallica songs
Hope they get back to this eventually :)

the four horsemen | Reviewer: ellie. | 8/8/09
This song is definitely about the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse that are in the Bible. Anyone who knows the story of them will agree. However, Pestilence is known as War in the book.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Four_Horsemen_of_the_Apocalypse if you dont know the story :)
Metallica | Reviewer: Michael | 6/16/09
I agree with you that Kirk is an excellent guitar player and song creator but, please, don't give example like The Unforgiven. Kirk's and Metallica's best years have been the KILL EM ALL, RIDE THE LIGHTNING and MASTER OF PUPPETS albums; you've got many songs to choose Kirks hability but please don't choose those songs
kirkk | Reviewer: metallica rules!!! | 5/11/09
what's with these comments saying that kirk hammett is not a creative soloist or he's not one of the best?!?? that's just stupid if you just listen to the unforgiven 1 & 3 you will see that u r badly mistaken..metallica all dayy
Another great hit for Metallica! | Reviewer: Andrew | 4/25/09
ive listened to metallica alot lately. and this has to be my all-time favorite song.
Metallica has other great songs like "the day that never comes" or "nothing else for whom the bells tolls" but four horsemen is one hell of a song
Simply Put | Reviewer: Will | 3/22/09
Great song by Metallica, a band that will always be remembered.
This song has a great solo, great riffs, great bass guitar output, and better lyrics.
Simply put, this song could be easily said as "Karma"
Dave Mustaine lost his chance with Metallica when he decided to let his actions roam free. I do not believe Kirk "copied note for note" on the solo's. But hey! Who are we to speak? It's a great song-whether by Dave, Lars, or James.
If you're going to nitpick at details about guitar riffs, then go nag at Disturbed's second bassists for not coming up with new riffs for songs like "Down With the Sickness." Let it be..."The Four Horsemen" is a great song.
Leave the subjective arguments out and enjoy the song!
About Sebastian | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/17/09
I'd like you to name those songs, so I can pick them out, and then compare them to one of Dave Mustaine's solo's. You think Kirks solo's are so badass, man, but all he does is wah-wah-wah-wah pedal now-adays. You realize that he copied the Kill em All songs that Dave wrote, as well as the Ride the Lightning songs, note for note? Very sad, if you ask me. But, I don't feel this needs to go on much longer.
Suffice to say, Dave Mustaine is better than Kirk purely because his music remains original, as always, and powerful. Kirk? He needs to dig down and re-invent himself.
about dave and kirk | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/19/09
Stop this fucking bullshit about who is better. Both Dave and Kirk are great in my opinion... but I think Kirk is faster whilst Dave is more creative. In their early days at least (now they are pretty much equal). Anyhow, I love both Metallica and Megadeth period.
great coments | Reviewer: Dimitur from bul | 12/27/08
well im from bulgaria I dont speak english very well but judgeing by the coments i can say that all of you people are wright for them selfs & for this great song the lyrics are so deep that no one could fully understand what metallica are trying to say to the world its their story i respect it but the sense of the text each one finds for him self !!!
Meaningless discussion | Reviewer: Damien | 12/22/08
I still don't know why people insist to compare Metallica and Megadeth, Kirk/James and D. Mustaine. Get real people! They're both damn good bands, with great songs!
Everybody knows that D. Mustaine participated on Metallica songs, like this one, but that doesn't mean that this song or Mechanix is better. Both are great!
Let's just skip those useless comments.
Demonology 101 | Reviewer: john | 11/7/08
Like it or not these lyrics are Religious and nothing makes for stranger bed fellows. This song is so religious (i.e. spiritual) it practically plagiarizes from the book of Revelations. Anybody that can't acknowledge that probably has some sort of mental hang-up or bias that blocks them from acknowledging the glaringly obvious.
But that doesn’t mean that Metallica’s lyrics and “otherworldly” talent for sonic manipulation as sincere “Christianity” but rather the flipside of “the way”. The Four Horsemen, like Apollyon (aka Abaddon) could possibly be Exiled Angels (i.e. Demons) that have and/or will do the “dirty work” of the Creator. “Creeping Death”, “The Call of Ktulu” and “The Thing That Should Not Be” are other titles that pickup on this demonological lyrical theme of Metallica.
Supposedly Hetfield was raised in a Christian Scientist household, and I believe we see this influence the lyrical content of the most “Metal” band of all time.
p.s. PROPS to James and Cynthia Hetfield.
