It's so funny to read the comments to this song. There are people out there dissing Metallica for this song and saying "it sucks" but completly ignoring the fact that this is from an album that contains nothing but COVER SONGS?! Even better, this cover was done in 1987 and was anything but "new material" at the time of the release of Garage Inc.

People look too much into songs that they see stuff thats not really there... This song is just about guys bragging and is "So what?" about it all! Ok I aint gonna play it loud when the family are around, but when their not it will be :)

The next time you decide to critique a piece of music, or anything else for that matter; try using your spell checker. The use of "there music", should have been "their music". Which in this case, was also incorrect because it was a cover tune. Just because you're an idiot, doesn't give you the right to make all the rockers of the world look dumb. Who are you, the PMRC?

First of all: So fucking what if you got all christian about the song? This song (albeit a cover) is as badass as any 'tallica song. And funnier than a fair share. As for your "I wish Metallica would read this" I'm pretty sure that even if they would bother with shit like that, they'd care about it less than about Mustaine...

Alot of people think "So What" is a bad song, because of the lyrics. But if you read the lyrics carefully... It's a little bit different. What I think the song is about is when people brag about their "Accomplishments" around a bunch of other guys. And there's a guy there thinking "Who cares?"

Despite being possibly the most vulgar song ever written, it is hilarious and as awesome as every other Metallica song (Ignoring the St. Anger album, but that's another story). It's a cover, but it's much better than the original, in my honest opinion.

Its hard to take credit away from a band such as Metallica. The group has been around since '82. And survived a lot that most bands couldn't. They fueled a metal era in the 80s by playing a type of music nobody had heard before. And people will be hard-pressed to hear from anyone other Metallica after them.

Its a hard thing to find someone or some group that absolutely revolutionized music. Rock music has its greats. Elvis, Hendrix, Rush, Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Marilyn Manson and so on... Metallica has very mush so, EARNED their spot on top through dedication and success few bands have ever reached.

This song is just a cover, for all you oh so whitty people out there who believe otherwise. hetfeild did not write the lyrics, and even if he did... he clearly states in the song what he thinks of your opinion.

Metallica has been around forever, and theve been on the top of the charts longer than that. So obviously there is going to be some jelous Megadeth fans out there... what... three there are... and there is going to be the common haters. Metallica has made themselves one of the biggest bands in metal history. And they did it them selves... they stormed onto the scene in the earl 80s, and hat yet to leave the scene.

Simply put... Love them of hate them, metallica is big, and will always be big. The revolution of metal music fueled over 20 years of metal music, and will continue to do so long after their final record. At least give the band the respect it deserves.
