this song is one of my fav metallica songs. along wit sad but true and one. this is my fav though because it fits me like a glove. i've been to a mental hospital and i felt the exact way that is described in this song. so facing depression, bipolar, mood disorders, and going to a hospital i can rele relate to this song as a whole.

i love u metallica!!!!

its about mental deseases- keep him tied it makes him well
metallica expresses rage about society, aspecciely (did i spell it right?) in master of puppets, when every song has its own meaning about the fucked up society. (master of puppets- drugs)
so in this song it explains about the treatment to the mental deseased.

metalheads unite | Reviewer: VADA | 10/28/08

this song kicks ass, prob one of their catchiest songs, the guitar solo is unbelievable, but what's really amazing is how Lars kept up to it and made it sound even better. anyone narking on this song needs to check themselves into a sanitarium. METALICA BABY!!! LIVE FOREVER!!!

The Influence of Metallica | Reviewer: Zakk | 10/10/08

I have to say, the influence of Metallica can't be overstated. Look at the reciprocation of influence, it's an amazing paradox--Metallica (esp. Hetfield/Burton) were heavily influenced by the Misfits. Yet "Helena" on the Misfits' album American Psycho samples a later verse in Sanitarium "Fear of living on..." The sampling is in rhythm and melody, rather than in lyrics, but Metallica is such a phenomenal band, they were able to influence a band that influenced them.

How many bands get to say that?

What a bunch of Shite. | Reviewer: James | 10/3/08

And i'm not talking 'bout Metallica, so everyone knows.......I'm talking about people with onetrack minds, alright.....Everyone knows Metallica, together with Iron Maiden has ruled metal for f...ing eons.....Even if some kid listened to Hardcore Rap, or even Bach or Mozart.....If Metallica changed his way of thinking 'bout music, that should be applauded.....but thats my opinion.....A die hard British piece of heavy metal shit........PEACE

Sanitarium is the fucking shit!!!!! | Reviewer: Jared Sanity | 8/24/08

(To Samantha) I'm also a fellow Limp Bizkit fan as well. I understand that the LB can't live up to Metallica, but like this is one of the best covers I heard of a Metallica song. The DJing in the song is just Limp Bizkit bein themselves. To me it sounds nothing like Hip-Hop. It sounds like Limp Bizkit to me. But it's whatever.

This is definitley one of my favorite Metallica songs next to "Master Of Puppets" and "I Disappear". Metallica lives on. LEAVE ME ALONE!!!

Hell Yeah | Reviewer: Sam | 8/23/08

This is possibly one of the best and most thought-provoking songs ever produced. From a psychological standpoint, it's really also quite accurate, at least of the metnal health system of thirty years ago.

Also to samantha, i am also a limp bizkit fan, and although i agree that their cover is not as good as the original, a cover very rarely is. However, i do very much like it, as do Kirk and Lars (who have seen it live and rather enjoyed it).

Anyhoo, metalica forever!

This stuff is the shit. | Reviewer: Samantha | 8/10/08

To '[kloWn]': As a fellow Limp Bizkit fan, even I know that they can't live up to Metallica. I mean...Metallica's like the greatest metal/hard rock band there ever was and ever will be. So you can't actually say that this song sucks, because you like the version by LB.

I honestly didn't like what LB did with the song because it's like they added some hiphop in (hate that genre) with the DJing. But they have had good covers (Behind Blue Eyes.)

I love this song, and I especially love the intro and the message and when James sings, "Leave me be" 'cuz it sounds just cool. My favorite along with Enter Sandman, The Unforgiven, and Sad But True.

Wow. | Reviewer: Ryan | 7/10/08

This song means so much to me. Because, as a clinically depressed 13 year old boy, I listened to nothing but rap music. One day, when going into the second page of my radio presets, I heard this on a rock station. I was floored. It was the best thing I had ever heard. I related to it so well. As emo as this sounds, I could relate to the verite struggle of the person in the song. This song got me into rock music. Therefore, it is one of the best songs I have ever heard.

Man there are some real dip-shits in the world. Like Ben for example.
I mean come on, who the fuck are you to decide who 'deserves' to listen to MetallicA? They are by far my favourite band, I also listen to alot of hip-hop. So do yourself a big, BIG favour, buy the Biker Boyz soundtrack, shove the cd up your fucking arse and take a look at who appeared with Ja Rule on track 3.

you guys are soooo sad, maybe I'm the saddest one reacting on it....
Metallica made some good music, but so did Megadeth of Mustaine. And of course there a lot of people who don't like this kind of music... So what? Don't make such a problem of it, just enjoy what you like

Metallica Rocks | Reviewer: Ben | 3/11/08

Metallica is the best band in th fucking world and I agree that any of those people who listen to pop rap or hip hop don't deserve to listen to metallica. Sanitarium is one of my favorite songs by them and I say Rock Out!
