Sweet song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/23/09
The title track of my favourite Thrash Metal album. God, I love this song.
To be honest, I enjoyed all of Metallica's albums to a degree. Pre-black was definately better, but Re/Load were great albums too and St. Anger wasn't bad. Just my views ,though. And Death Magnetic was great.
Death Magnetic | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/29/09
Ok the name death magnetic is very symbolic of what the album is trying to stand for. The whole inspiration of the album was past and present heroes...typically soldiers so since soldiers kill and are killed the title death magnetic is wuite fitting.
SO FUCKING WHAT | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/23/09
Yeh metallica released ST Anger, and it was abit of shitty album, but the name a band without a crap album with 6 other amazing ones. Mama Said was country, but lyrically amazing, thats metallica showing us that theyve got feelings too, theyre not like other bands trying to sing about killing things, and every other song they just has no meaning. Metallica has meaning, thats what made them such a good band.
New metallica is great | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/20/09
I don't understand why people don't like metallicas newer music. Sure, the absence of solos on St. Anger was a mistake on their part, but the riffs and lyrics were still strong in my opinion. Death Magnetic is my third favorite metallica album. (behind master of puppets and ride the lightning). All metallica is great. The end.
you sicken me | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/12/09
goddamnit you people sicken me
who cares if not every album they make sounds exactly the same? if you wanted that, just listen to kill em all or master of puppets.
granted mama said was too country for a metal band, and maybe no guitar solos on st anger was kind of a pissoff, but whatever
the fact is metallica has given us some of the greatest music of all time, and you people bitching about a few of their songs you didnt like instead of praising them for their massive overwhelming piles of kickass music should have your head examined
flame | Reviewer: met-lica | 1/2/09
its flame all the way:P not pain or flames, and i have been metallica fan for 9 years. and i have the tab book with the orginal lyrics, så you have to take away the s in flames in the beginning, its flame! mama said have some strong words, and thats from load and its beutiful, and thorn within, st.anger have one great song after my opinion, the unnamed feeling that have some really strong agressive words:P
Older is better | Reviewer: BandanaWedgie | 11/22/08
I can argue that the older stuff is better respectfully. Its like Iron Maiden.
They are all 50 now... So they can't sing as well as they used to, and they likley have slowed down.
However, Metallica are SLOWING down. However, Death Magnetic put this argument out of the window, because it is also powerful. Yet, the verses aren't as powerful as the older stuff.
Some of the older Metallica wasn't as good, highly due to that it was older, and didn't have as much experience. Ride the Lightning (single song not the album) sounded freaking amazing, and not a bit repetitive, even though it is, but isn't (?).
Trust me, I know what I am talking about with all this Metal and Experience and... stuff. Death Magnetic ftw!!!! (What is up with that name anyway?)
Amazing | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/22/08
Its hard to believe this is the same guy who wrote the lyrics on the new album...
all the lyrics on the 1st 4 albums (and even some later albms) were amazing, none of them seem forced and seemed to 'flow' with the song. You could sense the raw aggression in every verse which made me listen to metallica in the first place.
But since then its been a downward journey.Black album, load, reload did have some nice lyrics,
But i think St anger was lyrically the worst(with a few exceptions) followed by death magnetic. The former was a practically a joke("st. anger round my neck//he never gets respect"?!!) while the latter had lyrics which seemed too abstract, forced and out of place.
Little piece of information... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/30/08
1st of all, its flame, not pain ( because its about electricution, and some people that were electricuted back in tha days caught on fire before they died)... and 2nd of all, i understand where alot of yall are comin from by sayin Metallica's newer shit isn't that good, but you gotta understand somethin about the band back when they made ST. Anger!! 1.) Hetfield was in rehab for over a year, 2.) Ulrich was battling Napster n consequently lost alot o Metallica fans by doin that, 3.) They were trying to integrate Trujillo into tha band n they weren't doing a good job...plus, tha Mustaine beef reached a pinnacle in tha middle of the album ( u can even see so in "Some Kind Of Monster"). Yea, tha drums' new sound n basslines fuckin sucked, but they definetly redeemed themselves on Death Magnetic, which brings me back to the Kill Em' All n Master days!!! All i gotta say is ima Hip-Hop dude (who obviously gets alot o influence from older, respected rock groups) n even I can say that any Metal band that's been around for over 20 years n still doin it has major talent, so hats off to Metallica for doin their thing n gettin better with time.
Flame or Pain? | Reviewer: Wasabi | 8/10/08
Come on guys. If it were "pain" you would clearly hear an "I".
He sings "Flames".
Furhtermore, "I can feel the pain" sounds stupid, he would obviously feel pain in that circumstance. And the last time he sings "I can feel the ******" you can clearly hear an "L" after the first consonant.
Though, it is possible that the lyrics here are right, maybe he sings "pain" the first time, then the two next "flames"
