yeah one is a very good song done by metallica but look at stuff like master of puppets it starts off fast slows down half way through and then goes back up again this is the funnest song to play on guitar ..... also look at fade to black ..... awesome song .... talking about how war has ruined his life and stuff and btw to peeps who like old metallica songs dont listen to st.anger

One of the greatest songs of all time, graphic, musically inspiring, with a killer guitar solo rated 7th best of all time by guitar world. Lars's use of the kick drum as a machine gun is one of my most memorable moments as a listener to any music. It adds to the violent imagery projected by the vocals and as the tempo grows in intensity so does the tone of james voice cementing the lyrics in your mind as more then words. It is easy to see why this song won a 1987 grammy, its not just a rock song, its a story layered with incredible symbolism and deep emotion. Credit to Metallica for creating this stunning piece of war poetry.

This song is great. It has the best solo ever and describes many points of war. not only that but METALLICA IS A GOD!!!

I'd say this is one of the best songs ever made. If you don't think it is, you obviously haven't heard it. One of the few songs I can listen to more than 5 times without becoming bored of it. Also, it's even cooler if you know the lyrics and what Metallica is sinin about. GREAT SONG!

the guitar solo in the beginning has me giving my complements to Kirk Hammet and James, this is my favorite song from metallica because they have just covered this song so well starting with a great medium tempo solo and progressing into a much faster tempo, not to mention the work James put into the lyrics that just leave a picture in your mind you cannot forget once you hear it
