Lars's use of the kick drum as a machine gun is one of my most memorable moments as a listener to any music. It adds to the violent imagery projected by the vocals and as the tempo grows in intensity so does the tone of james voice cementing the lyrics in your mind as more then words. It is easy to see why this song won a 1987 grammy, its not just a rock song, its a story layered with incredible symbolism and deep emotion.
