It expresses this through werewolves and uses wolves to contrast with humans natural instinct. Psychology tells us we all have an "id" that is a behavior where we react to the moment as do some pretadors. We are pretadors by nature, as is the wolf. If you have never slept in the woods and awoke in the morning to understand the mist and how a pretador might interpret that, this lyric captures it, especially for a nocturnal animal/person. You would know it IS about werewolves. Ok?? Shape Shift, that's a clue there. Of Wolf and Man is the name of the song, another clue. And a really big one is If you listen to the S&M Metallica. On Of Wolf And Man, After the guitar solo James starts howling, and tells the audience to do so, and howls again at the end of the song. Ok? Not convinced that it's about werewovles?
