it makes you cry | Reviewer: girl from croatia | 5/24/08

this song makes me cry... I don't know why.. but I really admire to the James for this song... it's just to beutifull... I listen rock and metal whole my life and I have never heard something so powrfull like Metallica... they are simply the best

An awesome effort by incredible artists | Reviewer: jeffroe | 4/22/08

I concur wholeheartedly with the enormous praise some of you have heaped upon this masterpiece. This is true genius, nothing less. Such an incredible mix of headbanging jamming hardcore rock interspersed with delicate orchestral instrumentals and topped by mind boggling vocals. Many songs that try to be the best of both worlds do not flow smoothly, but the transitions here are flawless. I can listen to this mindlessly for hours on end and never get bored with it, and am always picking up on a new little nuance. I love to play it with different settings on my surround sound system and make the walls shake. My absolute favorite song of all time from one of the most diverse albums ever. Crank it up to 11 and let the world know that rockers can have appreciation for pure musical joy. There may be no such thing as musical perfection, but I challenge anyone from any era or genre to top this. Bravo to Hetfield & co for this one.

Most incredible masterpeice ever. | Reviewer: Kamigawa | 4/7/08

My mind was blown when i heard the song. It rocked my world and i lost what i had in my hands (which i think was my psp).

It's by far the best song by Metallica, and I'd love to see someone make a song even better.

Makes me want to cry... | Reviewer: Aria Newhall | 3/30/08

My word. Clover...wow. I've been a Metallica fan for years, but Clover still takes my breath away every time I hear it. The orchestra only adds to the darkness of the bridge, and the singing is phenomenal. I'm a musician and an opera singer, and I must say, it took me a while to learn all the details of playing and singing Clover. Every time I hear it, something about it that I can't quite put my finger on makes me want to cry tears of joy and sorrow. Truly a beautiful song, by a wonderful band.

Also... | Reviewer: Casper | 3/25/08

- Human was made specifically for the S&M aswell. Metallica even uses a playback form of the symphony orchestra at concerts, when playing these songs. I don't think they would be quite as good without it.

However if you have the S&M DVD, you can go to audio settings and turn off the orchestra sound - that may give you an idead of what it would sound like.

version without the orchestra | Reviewer: Mike Hawkissey Recht | 3/22/08

there is infact not a version of this song without the orchestra. It was the only song that they did on the S&M album that they did with the San Francisco String Quartet that was written for that album.

NO LEAF CLOVERR | Reviewer: valeria | 3/15/08

i am a musician, i play the viola and knowing that the most amazing, and talented band such as Metallica can be open minded enough to play with an Orchestra just makes me take my hat off to them, thats such a artistically mature thing to do.

METALLICA I LOVE YOU

Well... | Reviewer: Dartigen | 2/24/08

I found it interesting with the orchestra, but damn...long intro much? Sorry, but I tend to get bored by long intros very easily. Granted, it was still...different. I mean, Metallica and an orchestra - that's got to be a first.

Does anyone know if there's a version out there without the orchestra?

Favorite song of all time for this year. | Reviewer: Asshat | 12/30/07

I've listened to lots of stuff across the years but I just recently came across this again and realized that I didn't give it it's due respects while it was on the radio. This song right now and for quite awhile longer is my absolute favorite that sparks the most emotion and that "I wanna head bang even though I got no hair" kind of feeling. This song has me playing air guitar while I'm driving. Trust me, I know that sounds pretty gay but I don't give a fuk. All I wanted to say is this song kicks some extreme, extreme ass. Thats it.

metallica and the symphony | Reviewer: Slave Revolt | 12/9/07

What I find fascinating is how they partnered up with a symphony for this song.

Defintately brings this music to a sublime level of musical expression. Metallica are one of the most incredible artists in my time. There will be others, but these people have staying power, imagination, and a sophisticated but viserval musical idiom that escapes any quick generalization.
