metallica will never die | Reviewer: hammad | 12/25/09

'they'll never stop, they'll never quit cause they're metallica'.metallica will never die.cliff died but he lives in every fucking bassist who is metal.they're getting old,and even when they all die, their legacy will live on.and if you don't like their new music, its not their fault.they aren't like those fake stupid fucking pop stars who make music for money.james, lars and kirk make their own music, express their own feelings, and don't give a fuck about what people want.so if you don't like their new stuff,KILL YOURSELF AND GO TO HELL CUZ NO ONE FUCKING CARES

End All Argument | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/5/09

Metallica died the day Cliff Burton did. The rotting corpse that was Metallica still put out AJFA, but its more prog than thrash. Both are fast, but thrash has less technicality. AJFA was ridiculously complicated. Even Black album was decent, but it went in a downward spiral. Rob Trujilio is the best thing to happen in 20 years, but Death Magnetic is no RtL.

RIP Metallica

metallica has always ruled | Reviewer: hammad | 11/23/09

i agree that reload load or st anger were not as perfect as master of puppets or ride the lightning or kill em all but it was during these albums that they made songs like fuel, hero of the day or i disappear that caused revoltions!and i believe that death magnetic was very metal indeed and now its one of my fav albums by metallica.back to the st anger albums people don't realise that it would get boring if the same kill em all-punk metal-type thing was repeated in every one of their albums it would get boring.and for those weiners who say that metallica lost their edge after black album can fuck off!metallica has kicked ass from 1983 till today and always will!

I don't know about everyone else, but I don't really like Metallica's newer stuff simply because it lacks the passion that was present throughout the first four albums. It just seems like their playing to get payed, not because it's what they love to do. I could be wrong of course, but to me that's just the message I get from their music.

And please, please, please...
Don't EVER compare Rob to Cliff.

Every metallica album is awsome | Reviewer: Rhys Saunders | 11/12/09

I dont get why everyone only likes pre-black album, St. Anger is awsome death magnetic is amazing aswell what up with you guys ?

What do you think is bad about them, and they havent lost there edge lars is better than ever, Rob trujillo is amzing compared to newsted and cliff, kirk and hetfiled are even better at guitar i just dont see your problem. i love all there stuff.

AJFA | Reviewer: shaneomac | 10/17/09

Like about everyone here, I like about everything pre-Black album. Black Album was kinda the tipping point for me: they still had some pretty kick-ass songs, but they started... losing their edge. It's hard to explain, but they just started going downhill. I like a few songs off all of their albums (yes, even St. Anger), but none of their new stuff can come CLOSE to comparing with this ^^^. Does that make me NOT a true Metallica fan? Fuck no, Metallica kicks ass. Just because I don;t like ALL their music doesn't make me a true fan. They had an edge, and they lost it. Plain and simple.

Whatever... | Reviewer: Strazz | 8/20/09

What I hate about you whiners is that you whine about people whining about Metallica's St Anger albulms...(ie. Load, ReLoad, St. Anger) saying that they aren't true Metallica fans because they dont like all their music...also it matters not at all how you discover a band, whether you were like "oh lets be rebellious metal heads!" back in eighty three or you're like "ohhh One on guitar hero!" in 2008, only that you like 'em...I personally fall into neither catogries, as the prior was physically impossible for me, what with me not exsisting and all, and the latter also not possible, seeing as at that point I did not own guitar hero...

good song | Reviewer: Alan Berg | 8/7/09

SubvertedNationdotcom, your review is an eye-opener. You are a true genius. It looks like that AP European History class you took in high school really helped. Heck, you probably got a 4 on the AP test and everything (A 5 is like impossible LOL!). The FRQs can be real ball-busters, too. Congrats.

I find it bold, while everyone else here argues over Metallica's best work, that you took the time to copy Hitler's 80-year-old logic onto this forum. I mean, hearing it once was good enough, but it's even better a millionth time! It must truly be genius that no more thought is required to reiterate it; nothing more can be added to it.

I really wonder if you anti-Semitics truly believe in your words, or if you're just trying to piss everybody off.

On Metallica; I've only really started listening to them in the last couple of years. I might not be a "true" fan, but I like all of Metallica's pre-Black album stuff. The 90's stuff is good for a few plays, decent songs, but there's usually something for me that throws everything off, e.g. the weird humming in The Memory Remains or the kinda stupid lyrics of Frantic (lifestyle/deathstyle, frantictictictictictictictic). Death Magnetic has a good, fresh, modern sound to it, but I think I'm going to get bored with it soon. Right now I'm listing to a lot of Ride the Lightning, and I like what I hear.

PEACE

Great tune - Subverted Nation | Reviewer: SubvertedNationdotcom | 8/3/09

I wonder if Metallica was talking about the jews that are destroying our economy here in America as we speak? Seeing how they are the one's behind the money, specifically the purveyors of usury and debt, the same people Jesus chased from the temple with a WHIP for their "money changing" tricks that left people broke and forever indebted to these "pharisees". Why are we living the same pattern today? Why must we repeat these mistakes and not heed the warnings? America is in SERIOUS trouble this time. We are quickly becoming a communist country, and communism was created by the jew Karl Marx. Other jews like Stalin, Lenin, and Trotsky wiped out millions upon millions of people in Russia, when they murdered the czar and turned it into a communist state. Total slaughtered by the jews was nearly 40 million, and this is ignoring what they did in Armenia 3 mil dead, Ukraine 7-10 mil murdered in cold blood, Poland, Danzig corridor, and much more. They manipulate you into a trap with usury, then they murder your best people, to forever dominate what is left. This plague has spread from China to the US just like they said it would. I keep listening to this song and wondering, was metallica talking about the jew?

Trueness | Reviewer: Nick | 7/18/09

Honestly. Some people are so fucking stupid.

A true metallica loves the music. Period. I myself only am down with kill em all through black album. Not cuz I just am to stubborn to like the new shit, but because after listening to masterpieces such as those, its hard to hear something that doesnt sound as good. Doesnt sound like them. If you only like metallica for their new stuff, whatever, you're missin out. And if you think you're a true fan cuz you bought that stupid game. whatever.

Go listen to some good shit.

WITH MUCH RESPECT. | Reviewer: zlobodovayulia@gmail.com | 7/6/09

Friend reviewer "IKNOWALOT" I understand your point and have much apprehension.Yes definitely the diehard fans from the 80's are annoyed by the mass who started listening to METALLICA after the popularity they gained.Their music isn t so simple and accessible, because only a few people can realise the depth of their lyrics and the compicity of their music.
I think though you are a little strict though.I am from ghost city in Ukraine where Chernobyl took place and many people there like Metallica.Personally no way I would dare to call myself a fan,I just feel that thrill and awe and pain when I listen to some of their songs. That same awe you feel when you read the masterpiece of hugo the miserables.Don t label everyone as a poser, some people find escape through music.

My rant | Reviewer: C.J. | 7/2/09

Metallica, like many bands over 25, have evolved. I believe Kill 'em All was their best album, but wouldn't it get old if they put out the same stuff out over and over again? To say "Load" and "Reload" sucked is unfair just because they are different. I wouldn't even be a Metallica fan if it wasn't for those albums. I was only 4 years old when I heard "Hero of the Day" and became a fan. I now have 60+ Metallica songs on my ipod (I only downloaded songs that I had on cassette, so don't sue me Lars Ulrich)

"Big" Fan???? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 6/3/09

I dont know about anyone else, but i cant stand people who think they are Metallica fans because they play the game Guitar Hero: Metallica. My dad was a big fan of Metallica back in the 80s so i grew up listening to all of their songs and i am a fan today. One of my friends recently got GH : Metallica and all the sudden he thinks he is a big fan. Everytime he is over my house and i play songs like Enter Sandman, Master of Puppets, or Battery; songs everybody including my mother know; hes like oh ya i love Metallica im a huge fan. Then i go on to play songs like The Frayed Ends of sanity, Eye of the Beholder, Escape, and songs not on the game and hes asks me who it is. I constantly ask him how he is a 'big' fan when he has never heard of songs from the older, and in my opinon better, songs from the older albums. Also, i will be playing songs from Load, ReLoad and St. Anger and he will ask me why i listen to that stuff because he thinks it is bad. I dont know how you can be a big fan, or even a fan of a band, when you dont appreciate all of the music that they create, not just the songs you play in a game and are played over and over on the radio like Enter Sandman is. Load, ReLoad and St. Anger are not even bad. Despite critical responses, St. Anger still peaked at #1 on many charts in America and many other countries

I hate whiners! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/25/09

To people who accuse Metallica of being sellouts: remember that the whole reason of being a band is to both make money and have fun playing their music! Plus, remember that they're real people with real feelings. How do you think they feel about all the whining? They must feel pretty annoyed.

Load and Re-Load are pretty solid albums. St. Anger is my least favorite album, mainly because the drums gave me a headache, but there are still some pretty good songs on it. Death Magnetic has some great songs on it as well.
