Scorpios | Reviewer: Nick | 1/27/12
This song is obviously about Scorpios, and I know this from experience, no two ways about it, and that's a FACT. I'm one of Megadeth and Dave Mustaine's biggest fans, I DO know these things.
the song is about polotics maybe u guys should listen to the endings of the song everyonce in a while instead of just being posers and how tv lies and stimulates you into believing into the crap the news gives us
meaning | Reviewer: forebones | 2/23/11
theres no one meaning to this song, thats the great thing about art, its always open for interperation. And the meaning should be different for everyone. If i've never been addicted to heroin that meaning is not really applicable to me...
This song fits perfectly for the kike jews, murders and liars. Anyone got a problem with that then you are a slave to the kike jews. If you want to know who rules you, think about who it is you can't criticize. 14 words!
meaning of song | Reviewer: Julian
Well, I saw Dave Mustaine in an interview and he said the song is about when he was hooked on Heroin and said that the Scorpion represents Heroin and that it is about the people that H drags down into addiction. MEGADETH! MEGADETH! MEGADETH!
Times up | Reviewer: Yah yah
Well the tone of the song made it seem like evil is winning when it kills the scorpion and the frog ,but, the interesting thing is it sounded like the ticking of a timer. To the fall of man. Heed the call and u shalnt fall. Tick tick! Tock tock!
StupidAngry | Reviewer: Everything's Connected | 5/27/10
I love how the small minded cannot allow multiple meanings in a work of art or literature but defend their own while demeaning that of others. Don't worry if your thinking is different and gets attacked by the mini-brained. They're of no consequence. Thus we dub them "StupidAngry"--wait until you see how they respond to this and you'll see.
Aesop is no turk! | Reviewer: psylost | 12/20/09
For god shakes people!Learn some history! Its so easy with wikipedia nowdays!
Aesop was not a Turk and its not a Ancient Tuskish fable! There is no Ancient History of Turkey!Turks are a nation first visited in history in the middle ages!
You are so ignorant that you become a danger to common sanity and logic!
Embarassing indeed... | Reviewer: Scorpion | 11/27/09
Funny you should say that Fattycake55, seeing how this is what Dave had to say about the song..
Megadeth's songs have many meanings, but what Dave Mustaine has said in interviews about this particular song is that The Scorpion is about Aesop's Fable, a parable about destructive nature. In the fable a scorpion and a frog meet on the bank of a stream and the scorpion asks the frog to carry him across on its back. The frog asks, "How do I know you won't sting me?" The scorpion says, "Because if I do, I will die too."The frog is satisfied, and they set out, but in midstream, the scorpion stings the frog. The frog feels the onset of paralysis and starts to sink, knowing they both will drown, but has just enough time to gasp "Why?" Replies the scorpion: "Its my nature..."
So the next time you start calling people "hopeless" you might want to do some research first...
Embarassing | Reviewer: Fattycake55 | 11/21/09
You are all so wrong it's ridiculous. This song is about addiction to heroin. Dave wrote it for this album because he was addicted for the majority of his career and had just recently quit for good before this album was written. If you can't figure out what the songs about from the lyrics, that's pretty bad... but if you've seen the music video and still don't know you're hopeless.
The Devil. | Reviewer: Matthew
I think that this song is a reference to Satan, The Devil, he is represented throughout history by numerous animals like "The Scorpion, The Dragon, the Searpent" and things of that nature, when it says "I'm so much worse; I'm the fall of man" I think it means that the Devil's ambition as described in the Bible is to "Sell deceit" and Corrupt man away from God leading them to damnation to suffer as he does, because its described that the Devil hates Man and wishes to spite God so he does this by swaying men toward Evil and away from God.
Meaning | Reviewer: Sam | 2/28/09
The meaning of this song i believe refers back to an ancient turkish tale about a scorpion wanting to cross a river but not being able to do so, he asks a frog to get on his back and the frog says why should i trust you, he replies because if i sting you i die too. So the frog says ok, but halfway there he stings anyway and the frog looks bag and asks why? The scorpion says because its in my nature...
accidentaly in love... | Reviewer: That one singer from that one band... | 1/11/09
Okay, so in my band (Arsonite) we previously covered Symphany of Destruction by Mega-D and about ten others by other bands, and we had like 20 other songs we could vote to cover. I didn't know this song originally but Symphany was my best song so i decided to vote for this song too cuz it was by the same guys and thus i knew i could sing it, but once i heard the song, i realized that it was a wise mistake XD MeGaDeTH!!!
