I live in NYC, and 9/11 happened exactly two days after my seventh birthday. I live in Manhattan and go to school in a different borough, and it was about my second day of school in second grade in a completely new school. I barely knew anyone and since all the bridges and tunnels were closed, I was stuck in an unfamiliar part of the city, sleeping over at the house of someone I barely knew. That day, our principal came to every grade to speak to us about what happened. We were so young that we didn't understand what a big deal it was, but we knew it was bad. When I finally got back into Manhattan there was still smoke in the air (for months afterwards) and the news was on constantly, showing the footage over and over again. It was terrifying and my heart goes out to those who lose loved ones in this horrible tragedy. This song is an amazing tribute to this horrible event. Danny's lyrics and voice are touching and make me tear up every time I hear this song. Amazing song.

god, danny is incredible ! this song is so meaningful, so sad, so beautiful :(
It'd make me cry if when it happened I wasn't just 7. It was terrible, and now I can realize of all the hurt that it did all around the world, and all the hurt that war and terrorism do right now all around the world.
I'm from Spain btw.

Yeah, song is wonderful and affecting. It makes me cry too.
Of course 9/11 it was a disaster, but not only USA suffered from terrorists. For example, Russia was attacked several times. And thousands of people died from terrorism in different countries. So this song can be refered to them all.

I always cry when I hear this song. 9/11
chnged my life and changed my view on the world.
to know that people out there really hate America that much only makes me afraid, afraid to live here. I was in New Jersey visiting family the weekend after it happened and we could still see moke in the air. I felt so lucky that no one I knew died, but to think millions of moms, dads, aunts & uncles, grandparents, brothers & sisters, husband and wives, and children that did die, it's tragic. and Im kinda glad that people around the world saw this, they not only saw us get attacked but they also saw us come together and make it through as a whole country. and I can onl thank Danny, this song is beautiful. I could never talk about this song before, it made me to sad and in tears but now it's alittle easier to handle. Well done, Danny.

I was seven when this happened, and even though I don't live in NYC but in Holland I can still remember how much of an impact it had on me, just seeing it on the tv. And now that I listen to the song Danny wrote I don't know how to feel, I think the song is beautiful, but it makes me tear up so much that I don't actually want to listen to it. Still, I think Danny knows exactly how to put it. He's done an amazing job with this one.

gee. that really makes you think. i live in nyc and i was six at the time of 9/11, which happened exactly 2 weeks after my sixth birthday. i was in school and they ssent us home early because we couldn't go out to play from all the smoke in the air. i didn't find out what happend until about a week later, but now whenever i go past ground zero, i tear up, and i dont cry easily.
people don't usually think of them as serious, but mcfly can actually be quite profound and beautiful at times, even with songs that seem sort of silly when you read the lyrics. room on the third floor, not alone, heart never lies, home is where the heart is, and of course, silence of the city. thank you danny, cos this song is absolutely incredible.

although it is more serious than any other mcfly songs, i absolutly love it. mabey thats just because Danny wrote and sung it, but i still think it is a really powerful song. i was only 8 when 9/11 happened but this makes me see what it was really like. i say well done to danny.
