this song is a masterpiece.
unfortunately the lyrics for the chorus are always writen incorrectly.
the 3rd line in the main chorus should be:

"with this wilderness, listen, I'm not missing where it's at"

The song is suggesting the cutting down of trees, something that a man such a matisyahu (at least as he appears to be to me) would not advocate. so when he talks about the cutting down of forests, he is saying "listen" this is a metaphorical chopping down of trees, not a literal one.
