Mind blowing. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/7/10
A good friend of mine covered Asilos Magdelena with his band and I fell in love. Then came the days of listening to Amputechture and Deloused in Comatorium. Absolutely incredible. Start with Amputechture, but listen to the whole thing at once. Concept albums and this band is wickeddd
Mars Volta vs Comformaty | Reviewer: Orquidea | 10/12/08
These guys dont conform to society. They dont play to please the majoity of people. They Play to please their hearts and ears, and anyone who feels the same. So, yes the sound might throw people off because society is not use to this kinda music. Their lyrics, poetry deserves to be heard. Put together they are beautiful!!

music that flows within your veins. | Reviewer: DIELEE | 1/12/08
TALENTED<BRILLIANCE>MUSICANS OF THEIR OWN.
They definitely won me over with their unique, bizarre sound. Not everyone could appreicate music like TMV because everyone doesn't FEEL music. They're different.
My best highs consist of me driving down the highway, full blast JAMMING to TMV. THANKS FOR THE RUSH GUYS !
The best fucking band in the earth | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/5/08
I first ran into them when i was in my room and my older brother was listening to the song Tetragrammaton i thought it was 4 different songs but i just turned out to be a 16 minute kick ass song and i listen to every type of genre when comes to music but over all The Mars Volta puys it at the top. So after i heard tetragrammaton i looked up TMV and like that other guy said ive been hoked ever since!!!!! Mars volta viva mexico!

I first ran into The Mars Volta flipping through the channels on my t.v. and stopping at this strange visual explosion. It was all red and there were guitars and drums and lyrics...OH MY!!!
I thought to myself "This chick has a voice!" among other things.
I listened intently intrigued by the proposition to have to decipher a song in a time where I began to lose my faith in the human race for making such sheiss-filled music (Fall out boy? Dancing at the Disco? Where is the music???). The song ended and in the corner of the screen it read The Mars Volta - "The Widow"...Then I was like "WHAT THE HELL? I'm watching MTV?!?!"
I looked them up, tracked them down..soon found out that the chick with the fabulous voice was actually a really hot Scorpio dude. (Sorry for that Cedric)
I became addicted to TMV. Listening to De-Loused for the first time all the way through on a 10mg Vicodin. I had a spritual awakening literally everything started flooding in. from De-Loused I found myself initiated enough to move on to Frances and when the first peak of "Cygnus..Vismund Cygnus" hits me I feel my root chakra spiral out in a way that it shouldn't in public...heh heh heh. (screw off if you dont know what chakras are, your dumb)
Tremulant EP was a nice little pick me up to find and consume while waiting for Amputechture as was A Missing Chromosome.
Amputechture is some heavy baggage if you don't understand the occult much. If you do understand it...it adds 10,000 different facets to the album.
Can't wait for A Bedlam in Goliath to come out...tracklisting seems like it will fulfil some kind of prophecy to Amputechtures' spiritual design.
Thats just my interpretation.
The Mars Voltas' music is seen in my eyes like the way Mr. Glass ,in the film Unbreakable, views comic books. You look at it with dumbed eyes and all you see is a cartoon but, with the right kind of eyes you see the mathematics of the universe.

Pink Floyd of Our Generation | Reviewer: Leon AKA SLothMan5000 | 9/25/07
WIth a sound as unique as some of the best bands known to date and a talent unchallenged in today's musical scene, Mars Volta could easily be labeled as the Pink Floyd of this generation. This writer doesn't hesitate to regard the members of the band as musical geniouses, and their utter mastery of their instruments as nothing less than uncanny.
With influences from psychadelic rock, latin rythms, and with song structures that vary dramatically from song to song, the Mars Volta have created a sound that's never been heard before, and likely will never be heard again. Each album brings a new brilliance, with new displays of intricate timings, incredibly complex scales, bizarre musical effects adding an eerie twist to each song, and a chemistry which has been whitnessed in only the greatest of bands. Mars Volta have both inspired the writer as a fellow muscician and captivated me as a fan, follower and a seeker of new, talented bands.
