I agree on some part with "Brain Engaged". I own three Manson albums. Honestly, he's crap. And its ugly. But its like yin-yang, you need to have some sort of commercial darkness for the opposite Hannah Montana, anorexic barbie, People Magazine b.s.. He knows that hes full of it. Because of that, he IS a rebel in every way shape or form. Some people can't see that thinking outside the OUTSIDE of the box can be very appealing.
Even so, Im not sure i get him.

Manson has not done anything to anyone. So no belivers go to hell. My grandpa is a pastor my uncules are decons and everyone in my family belongs to church, but hes the catch? I felt sorry for the life that marilyn manson might have experienced, when I began to read about him. And that's how life is sometimes it is hurtful and can treat you very poorly. However his hurt is not to be blamed on God his church experience that may or may not be true is neverthenless a very sad encounter because not every church goer is a believer; infact I believe that many of them are hypocrite. I happen to be a pastors daughter and I am very pumped to say that I am a believer even though some people may believe that it's a bunch of church crud I know that God is very real and to me he has been extremely merciful. And so after reading marilyn manson's story and listening to some of his lyrics I have to say that if he doesn't have christ's mercy he will go to hell even though he seems not to care. I want to say that I am grieving on his behalf and I hope and pray that his listeners will tune out and that he will come to grips with the mercy that Christ offers.

There's nothing laudable about this jerk. Geez, you read the reviews here and mostly those hailing him are as one would expect, only semi-literate or can do little but spew profanity.

This so-called musician is of extremely dubious talent of any sort. He pretends to be some icon of free speech and personal freedom as well as a dozen other things but he's nothing more than a self-styled marketing gimmick.

Shock and enrage people on a large enough scale and present some simplistic non-philosophies for the masses of directionless gullible teens in a confused world, and PRESTO: major coverage from every side.

I've heard him talk about his so-called beliefs and motivations on various occasions. He alters them to suit the occasion or plays roles he obviously doesn't believe. Every move is to induce controversy, or to cultivate the doubts already rife as to whether he is the wacko or the hero for the outsider.

There's not a single drop of consistency except to pump up his image to maintain the high level of notoriety for the $$ to flow in despite any real substance or talent.

He's probably something of a real minor evil in that he tends to sway gullible teens to emulate and believe in his anti-everything disgusting behavior, but not to the degree that too much should be made of him, as that's what he's in it for.

And for those holding him up as some kind of hero for whichever dubious cause he claims to be pushing at any particular moment, it's utterly ridiculous to think that acting and dressing contrary to any accepted norms or good taste makes one any more unique or original in thoughts as anyone else.

EVERYONE is inherently unique and unlike anyone else psychologically or mentally. The idea that doing everything "one's own way" or bucking society is some lofty goal is idiotic. Manson's behavior is just narcissistic, selfish, self-agrandising, rude, and demeaning. The same basic traits as Paris Hilton with an ugly edge.

I may have a nice voice or was once a good person. I wouldn't know. The lyrics to his songs, the very soul behind them, even him.

It makes me nausiated. You who listen to him... do you understand what you're hearing? Its twisted. Its pain, disturbing and violant.

There are much better bands out there, and I am begging you all to give up on this singer. Leave him to find his own way.

I just went over some of the comments people have made twards Manson and things like... O I will pray for you Manson and O you will burn in Hell... That is so uncalled for what kind of persons has the right to say that to anyone? No one! The truth is we are all human, all of us have sin, born with sin and there is no way out of it! What if he wants to go to Hell let him he made his mind up, so thats that! All you can do is be an example for someone elses life, and no matter what you say they will fly there way.
