------ performed by Marilyn Manson
Song meaning | Reviewer: Lachlan | 6/11/09
This song has two meanings. One that is personal, and the other that fits in with the album's story. The personal meaning, is that Manson had a friend, and she ended up killing herself because of them. The storyline meaning is about Omega (The main character of the Mechanical Animals CD), where at the end of the story, Omega snaps, and kills herself after living the rockstar life and taking drugs. Hope this helped.
In the video | Reviewer: Darra | 3/25/09
I thought of it move of Kennedy and his wife, Jackie O, because of how the girl was dressed. Like, in the video she was wearing pillbox hat, and her hair was black and looked like Jackie and stuffz. So, Manson, played the man got shot, who could of been a representation of JFK. And the girl was crying and whatnot. So...I know it doesn't really relate to the song, but it relates to the video.

Personally I would have had a stab in the dark and said it was about the live of Marilyn Monroe, her relationship with the president, more to the point of the coma white video.
That seems to make alot more sense to me.
gahh | Reviewer: Anon | 7/8/08
Not one have you have tried to come up with a meaning.
That's annoyed me lol. It's written about a friend of his that died from a drug overdose. the chorus progress to show how more & more drugs effect her state. She goes from being numb, to feeling dumb.
This could possibly be brain state or the feeling that she shouldn't have just taken a massive overdose. She'd taken the overdose because of personal problems I believe, could be wrong though as they could well be recreational drugs.
I'd write more, however, it's wasted on here.
Heart shaped glasses is a shit song compared to this - for whoever compared the two and Mechanical Animals will always be on par with ACSS. They're his two best albums.
Long live John 5.
OH & if you don't know what ACSS is. Don't attend Manson's tours. You don't deserve to be there.

wonderfull | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/28/08
Marilyn's really outdone himself . This song is amazing, as is all of Mechanical animals. It's lyrics and sound are purfect and, as always, slightly surreal.
