I was more into her upbeat songs like "Heartbreaker", "Honey", and "Sweetheart". Those hip- hop types. The only ballad I really loved was "Breakdown" and it was even a true ballad at all. Then this song came along. "We Belong Together" is a phenomenal song in itself --- it surpassed the time it should be played on- air, and two months after its release, everyone still loves it. I still love it right now. Whenever you think you'd get tired of it and never would listen to it ever again, you hear it on the radio and you fall in love with it all over again. You just don't get enough of it. The way she sings the whole song is amazingly refreshing from her previous ballads, its as if she really poured everything she had in this song and it stands out. Though when you listen to her WHOLE album, you'll realize that "We Belong Together" is just one of the many hidden gems of the album itself. The album is fantastic, one of the best I've heard from her.
