The Reviews about Broken Hearts, Torn Up Letters And The Story Of A Lonely Girl (page 1/1)

Love this song! | Reviewer: Vinny | 11/14/2008
The first stanza and second half of the chorus (same thing by the way)seems to be a friend telling his/her friend that she isn't moving on, that maybe she needs to change something in her life.
Then they seem to go into a story, saying that the girl is jealous of her boyfriend's lady friends, or maybe someone else's relationship, and the last two lines imply that maybe she's overdosed to settle her pain (very 'emo' by the way, you have the wrong understanding of what 'emo' is anyway), only it never works.
I agree with whoever mentioned that the friend in the first part of the chorus "Living behind your wall" is trying to tell her to come out from that shelter and actually let yourself fall for once.
And the second non-chorus stanza they talk about how the summer is ending, and how maybe it all is ending too, but that her close friends, like the one who'd be singing this song, would always stick around, no matter what. They also mention the death of dreams, "With all these dreams/That didn't make the grade" (also 'emo') In the last three lines of this stanza, he's telling her to move on.

As emo as a hyperactive badger. | Reviewer: Gen | 10/31/2008
Not Emo. Not at all.
Basically, It looks like its about a girl who dosn't want anything to change. But everythings changing around her and she can't accept it. The chorus seems to be be telling her that she has to come out from behind her 'walls' and get on with life.
Can't dance forever, girl...

This song is not emo. It's is actually really sweet if you thik about it. It is like somebody telling their best friend to move on and to live again. it is definantly my favorite song on that album. It is constantly running through my head.
Agreed. Not Emo. | Reviewer: Emily | 4/26/2008
This song isn't emo in the slightest! Whoever said it was is silly. (:
It's an amazing song, I love it to pieces. It's ever so amazing, I love the lyrics... They apply to many people in a lot of different ways, it just depends on which perspective you're looking at them from.
Most definitely NOT emo!
not emo.i agree. | Reviewer: Stephay | 2/10/2008
this song isn't emo. actually its one of my favorites. i like songs that talk about what i go through. and this is one of them. emo talks stupid crap like "go cut yourself" "kill yourself" but this is just a song about life.
hip hip;))
just not emo | Reviewer: Mix | 12/28/2007
it's basically telling someone to get over it, in the most encouraging and supportive way possible. it's not emo just cause the lead singer has a fringe.

This song is not emo at all. Believe me I love emo music and this is not emo. I love this song though! Just because it says "Broken Hearts" doesn't make it emo!! ;)
agreement | Reviewer: Kelsey | 11/6/2007
I agree with KS, this song is definitely not emo.
It's one of my favorites and I'm not really into the whole 'emo' style to begin with. Besides, the beat is way too upbeat for an emo song in my opinion. This song=love
not emo | Reviewer: KS | 7/26/2007
I've heard people call this emo, but it's just the opposite. "Times like these wont last forever..." is a lot different then "Go kill yourself"
