The Reviews about The Bonny Swans (page 1/1)
------ performed by Loreena McKennitt

Beautiful | Reviewer: Al Perrin | 4/2/09

Reminds me a great deal of the Medievel style of musical Greek tragedy like "Polly Von," song by Peter Paul & Mary back in the sixties. But here, Ms. McKennitt masterfully welds this folk music style of storytelling with a modern steel string guitar format. A hauntingly beautiful rendition, that along with the sad ancient words touches the heart deeply.

CYGNUS,LYRE' andSAGITTA | Reviewer: steven streets | 1/25/08

All thestars of the northern cross are there and its companions and thier relative myths. truly the fruit of a celtic viking subconscious this tale brought to new light by this new star. Many a sea rover father of olde looked to those stars for directions in his sleepless dilirium because of the tribulations his daughters competitivness had requited him.Its so inspired I have to wonder if Lady Mckennitt is a descendant of that clan of the three swans. the lyrics seem to me pure Robert Burns. As a former stepfather to just such cyclonic teenage hominids, im grateful someone could take all that and make something beautiful out of it. HER MUSICAL ART as consistant as ever, weaves craft with material equal to her skills. If the Lady Mckennitt be not already a descendant of that ancient noble clan of the three swans, id hope she would consider my invitation to join it.but not for begating more teenage girls...
