------ performed by Loreena McKennitt
This is such a beautiful song... | Reviewer: Tim L. | 11/28/2008
I fell in love with Loreena McKennitt a couple of years ago when her song "The Mummer's Dance" came on the radio. I recognized the song, but hadn't heard it in several years. At the time I had no idea who sang it. Since then, I've discovered Loreena McKennitt can take any poem and turn it into heavenly music. She has the most wonderful voice I've ever heard and I hope when I go to Heaven, she'll be there playing her harp and singing, 'cause she has the voice of an angel. Caravanserai is my current favorite song from her although Beneath a Phrygian Sky is moving up on my list. Caravanserai is a middle-eastern word meaning inn, go figure. Anyway, listen to the song it is a work of poetic genius and Loreena's vocals are so crisp and pure...the chorus is so beautifully sung.
a journey....Thank you Loreena | Reviewer: Giorgos | 4/22/2007

One of the best songs I've heard combining east and west.
A friend of mine was travelling with his father in their car. He puts the record on. 2 minutes later father asks "where is the singer from?" "Ireland" the boy answers. "I tought so. They make the most emotional (hisli) songs in Europe." father says.
