By Pages:   1    2    3    4    5    6    Add Your New Review About The Song The Reviews about Hands Held High (page 5/ 6) ------ performed by Linkin Park alrighty now | Reviewer: zack | 8/13/07 personally i love this song. from a musical standpoint, i like to here a rap song from them occasionally. thats what makes them LP. now for the political aspect of it. listen guys, you have to get that this song isnt just about the war in iraq. its about war in general. youll notice the part about the book that says when the rich wage war, its the poor who die. we arent the only country waging war. and we havent been at it nearly as long as quite a few countries out there. now, i guess i used to be a bush supporter. i wanted Hussein out of power. the iraqis wanted Hussein out of power. and now our military is attempting to set up a stable iraqi government, so that they dont go back to war like they have been for the last thousand years. on the same note, i dont quite know everything that we're doing over there. and despite what you think, neither do you. we arent fighting for gas. there is no 'blood for oil' we still have oil in the midst of the war. and you cannot believe everything the news tell you. they print HUMAN INTEREST PIECES. that means they print what they think people will watch. humans are naturally interested by death, controversy, hate. you have to admit that the news companies ARE trying to make money, so we cannot be sure exactly what is going on over there without actually being there, or planning it. but bush fans, you cant just write off this song because you disagree with it. thats dangerous. thats when you start to follow blindly. thats what the radicals over there have become. and shutup, it doesnt ruin the album or the band. they didnt "sell out" to become liberals. personally, theyve always kind of struck me as a more left sided band. but its just that most of their material in the past had been based on relationships. so just be careful what you listen to. not everyone is right. and sometimes those who are, lie about it. everyone who is stupid | Reviewer: ashleyy | 8/7/07 stop pretending like everything is ooh la la in iraq. most of all the men in my family are over there risking their lives to try and save whats left of this sorry ass country. so stfu. hell yeah, bush is a deededee for keeping men there but what are you gonna do? post fucking stupid reviews about it? if you're so pissed, dont listen to LP, pick up a book and fight the legal system instead of sitting on your ass at your computer. This isn't just a "We hate Bush" song. Just listen to the damn song. Actually listen to it. Don't just type up a comment based on a first glance. They're singing about not only what an idiot our President is, and they most certainly aren't bashing the men and women in service ("back of the jet" means the suits behind sending out the soldiers) but about how f***ed up our political system is. Complaining about the political system doesn't mean you're a bad American, and it doesn't mean you don't appreciate the things you have. Every song on this CD kicks ass EXCEPT this one. I just skip it and pretend it's not there. When I listen to "No More Sorrow" the images that come to mind are those of the moderate Muslims suffering under and then fighting back against oppressive radical Islamists (Taliban leaders, Hezbollah, the Iranian regime/ayatollahs, all members of Al Qaeda, Sunni extremists throughout the Arab world and especially in Saudi Arabia). In my mind I've taken what those assholes in Linkin Park intended to be a Bush-bashing song and turned it into a better song with much more deeper meaning for me. Yeah, I get it . . . you don't like Bush; that's not new! The cool thing to do these days is to hate Bush. Why doesn't anyone write a song about the dangers of radical Islam and a nuclear Iran?
