This is an amazing song... it has soo much meaning. the line, "And how can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?" is so, so true. its a beautiful song.
if anyone hasn't seen the skit for this song on youtube, look it up. just put "everything skit" and it should be there.
Wow!!!!!! | Reviewer: Alyssa | 4/12/08
This song is sooooo amazingly sweet and beautiful. It's pretty deep and can be interpreted any way you want, the fact is that it's an expression of outpouring love for someone, be it God or your significant other...

look this song is one of the best songs Lifehouse made. And really who cares if they used God in there songs who cares if there christians its a song for those who still beilive in him (God) and for those who dont and have replaced God with someone they truly love. So why do people have to be so Judgemental?

In the normal world people listen to a mix of everything granted everyone has there on perference in music, I was reading and saw a statement about how Liehouse is a christian band but you know something so is Creed, Creed actually started out as "only" a christian band, look how far they have come...

"Christian People"? We're not a different breed. Yes the song can be interpreted in any way- yet do i mock the way you interpret the song? I suggest you think about that. I just hope one day you see the light, and can enjoy life as i do.
people are hilarious | Reviewer: blake | 3/28/08
First off i really like this song.well done by lifehouse.but i have read all the posts thus far and it makes me laugh at how judgemental christians are in general.they get offensive when someone says a thing such as the previous posts have stated.lifehouse may be a christian band or what not, but that doesnt mean all of their songs are leaning towards god.also, people can interpret they song however they choose; thats what makes music so good.i have nothing against god but i just think its hilarious at how offensive and judgemental christians are these days.thank you
Simple answer | Reviewer: seoulman | 3/24/08
God Is Love. So love songs are a reflection of how God wants us to live. To have affection for one another at all times and the forgiveness to do so. So debating about whether it's about God or Love is one in the same. God Bless you all. I Love you!

The guy from Lifehouse made it intentionally to all public, for people who believe in God and people who the only thing they have is love, this is why this guy wrote the phrase: "you steal my heart" coz this phrase is a cliché in every romantic poem you read, if this is a song dedicated to God, this line doesn't go exactly with it coz God doesn't steal anyone's heart, God doesn't steal anything from you. God owns everything that you have, including your heart, coz he was the one who created it, but you have the control of it, Freewill. So, if you decide to forget about who create it, that's up to you. Beside that, the phrase that says you calm the storms, it could mean that your boy/girlfriend helps you when you are in trouble but it also could mean Jesus, coz he was the only one who calmed the storms. But if we talk about being moved by someone, when you are with your couple you feel excited, you feel butterfly in your stomach, your heart beats very fast and if this person is going away... you feel like your heart is about to go out, BUT that's definitely not being moved, you will never know what is being moved until you know what is to have Jesus and the Holy spirit in your heart.
To all the ones who feel Love:
Don't try to find someone to feel loved. Don't try to fill your heart with people who will never fill it.
God is the only one who can fill it.
then You will know what is real love... love for your partner and for everyone!!
when God fill your heart... You don't look someone to love you, you look to love someone. and that is real love!

Techincally they ARE listed as rock/alternative, but every member of the band is Christian. I was listening to the songs and in 70% I found strong interpretations of the word of God and his blessings. However, several songs--such as Broken and You and me--could be viewed through a romantic sense.
I think their songs are up for individual interpretation. It's hard to tell for several, when I first heard this my boyfriend wanted me to listen to it through a romantic point of view. But I saw it in a skit in church and i now view it as a message to god.
