It's just a little rain................ | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/3/09
Brilliant stuff from Led Zeppelin yet again, this song always brings about peace when I listen to it, with Page's slow moving guitar-well slow compared to his other stuff, and with the lyrics and the voice of Plant this song is always one to listen to at any time of day
Jesus Robert"son" of God | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/17/09
That is pretty funny!..Pat Robertson has exalted himself to oversee who Jesus will save. I believe Pat is doing his best with a sober mind that rockers gave awy a long time ago. We bit a little bigger chunk of the forbidden fruit so to speak! However, The Rain Song has been the backbone of my learning experience when Frank Garcia showed me the standard tuning chords. It is said that Jimmy Page and Robert Plant Used the format that Jeff Beck and Rod Stewart has pioneered on the Truth album that preceeded Led Zepplin I. I love them both and rank them as 2 of the greatest albums of all time in the rock arena. Truth still being the greatest. I will be performing The Rain Song on acoustic guitar with the vocals tonight in Eugene Oregon at the World Flavors. My first time ever and to follow with Stairway to Heaven and then The Kinks Sunny Afternoon. Myspace.c om/habenarotaco for more of the Dani Seakey Brand!
A marterpiece | Reviewer: Jose Mejia | 6/14/09
I felt in love with this piece since I heard it for the first time, and I was just a kid about 12 to 13 years old. I thank my dear uncle Johnny (who passed away long time ago) for introducing me into Led Zeppelin's music. I believe it constitutes an indissoluble bond with him after all this years and it really made a mark in my life.
Because of its beauty, The Rain Song seemed to me like a very complicated musical piece which required really talented people to perform. I could not even imagine how to approach to this song for long time, while playing the guitar.
Later on I found that, in fact, from the performing point of view, this is a very easy to play tune and, guess what... I started to appreciate it even more because I recognized in it the hand of a genius. Only geniuses are capable of producing such a beautiful creation with such simplicity.
I really love music and it has been an important part of my life, and after hearing all kind of music from all genders, I dare to say, without hesitation that The Rain Song is the most beautiful song I have ever heard.
=D | Reviewer: Erik Kwiatkowski | 5/8/09
This has to be the second best composition Jimmy Page has ever written (Kashmir #1), One of the most unique tunings and melodies I have ever heard, and beautifully sung, by Robert Plant. If only I was alive to see them play in concert. Damn my early teen years. :<
Tuning | Reviewer: Guitar Joe | 5/5/09
This great piece of music was played by Page with an alternate tuning... but it is easy to play with standard tuning. I learned it that way by ear b4 I knew the tuning was different. Saves you from changing guitars during your set on stage.
Key of G ( and A ) | Reviewer: Patrick Broadfoot | 3/11/09
The studio version is in G. The live version is in A. ( At least on the Song Remains the Same soundtrack )Jimmy Page used no capo. Jimmy was an amazing guitarist who apparently had no problem transposing a song like this, at will, which is pretty hard to play actually.
One of my favorite Led Zeppelin tunes...
Guitarism | Reviewer: Scarlett | 2/8/09
If you are a guitar player, definitely learn this song. You'll retune every other string around the G. It's a great joy to play and sing, and anyone who knows it will be glad to listen to every golden note. This is the lullaby i fall asleep to every night. Play it for someone you love.
Strange | Reviewer: Ace | 1/30/09
It's so amazing how this song affects me. Don't get me wrong, I love it, but the second I heard it, my stomach tied to knots and i started tearing up. Something about this song makes me feel sad, yet touched, and sometimes nostalgic. It reminds me of a tune I've heard when I was younger, but I don't know what. There was a point where this song affected me so much, I could barely listen to it without breaking down too much. To other people, it's not even that sad. I think it's just a personal thing that not even I myself can decipher.
Best way to | Reviewer: Rafael Pereira | 12/9/08
The Rain Song is the best way to remember what is all about. Anytime life confuses you , anytime you want to live and not survive only. Lennon knew it, he wrote a song about back in 68 which came to be the first worlwide music video. Music is the best, Zappa said and he was right too. It´s just words to call the essential: love. There can be no other better song to share with the one you love. Those two alchemists knew how to do it!
