That's the way. | Reviewer: Patrick | 10/12/07

What i have to say about this song is it has that nice melody going, jimmy page sounds really nice in this song. how he plucks the strings. and john paul jones wailing away on that mandalin. both together jimmy and john put together a really great song from the strings point of view. what i would like to say about sir robert plant is that he really braught it all to this song. the singing could almost make you cry. there is only one story behind this song and noone knows what it actually is other then robert and jimmy and john x 2. so unless you ask them you cant say anything about it except for your opinion which is alright. robert really found the right lyrics for the right song he really hit it i mean it is soo beautiful and romantic at the same time as it could also be a nice song you would play at a party lol. i mean no other band in the world can make as good of a song as this. but i have to say tip toe through the tullips almost hits the spot like that's the way. i have to say when i started reading everyone comments i had something really nice to say about this song but as i started writing, there is soo much about this song that i could say thats going through my head right now, i have to stop and stop typing or i will go insane. i just have to say that i really like this song alot. thank you goodbye goodbye.

Growing Up Gay | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/30/07

I think it is about a boy that is growing up gay (the hair hanging down, found another game to play, and the kissing tiny flowers references). The loss and sense of sadness (tears in your eyes, depression (stairing at the water, dead fish, all that is born is made to die) and hint of suicide resulting from knowing that you are different and cannot follow the same paths. Listen to it again in that context.

ignorance | Reviewer: Spoke | 8/25/07

I think the song is about 2 childhood friends. The time comes, as it does with all of us, that one is searching and thinking about the social condition. One, I believe , has been brought up with the "get" mentality...the other is searching out the "give" mentality...
Mum doesn't want her clean cut 9-5 kid hanging out with a socially conscious hippy.

What I think | Reviewer: shaynewithay2@yahoo.com | 8/23/07

Everytime I hear this song, I think of when I first heard it on "Almost Famous." I don't think a better song could've been put on the soundtrack, especially seeing how Penny feels about Russell. I know I've felt a love for someone who didn't respond before..or did at one point, or I felt as though they did, but in the end, it didn't really matter. It's like he's telling her goodbye, and while he still wants her attention, he realizes neither of them can play the game anymore. He knows he doesn't really feel for her, and his mother saw it all along. And she's just heartbroken. And while she does ignore him, it's really just a strong attempt to neglect what she loves so much, but doesn't really succeed in doing so.

here's a thought | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/9/07

i think its about racism. the boy is a black friend and his mom says that he can't see him. i dunno, look at the lyrics, listen to the lament, the hopelessness, but also the rhythms that make you move, shake your head or tap your hand, they demand an action, this suggests to me that everything really isn't going to stay the way it is. it is a song that hints at change in a world that doesn't want to change.

Thats the way | Reviewer: The Dude | 8/8/07

Yeah, what you're hearing is the Zep experience. If you truly hear the music you'll feel it. Down by the seaside is another great song, emotional, kind of a "going away" feeling.

beautiful indeed | Reviewer: petal | 7/30/07

ro properlly analyze this song you need to listen to the lyrics and what you think of the song and what the song means to you and what you think it is... There isnt a RIGHT or WRONG answer its what it means to you and noone else.. and as pattie said this song is beautiful and one play isn't enough :) though everyone has different tastes this has got to be one of my favourite songs.

Beautiful, Haunting | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/26/07

I've tried to analyze the lyrics to this song and pull out the songwriter's message. It's on more than one level but the underlying theme is a statement on society's duplicity. The melody haunts me. Like Lays potato chips I bet you can't listen to it just once. Sit back, turn it up and savor the nuances of the changing rhythm, the expressive guitar and the soulful vocal. It will be with you all day.

Beautiful | Reviewer: Pattie | 6/11/07

this is extremely underrated...this song is so beautiful, and just listening to it one time makes me feel just so happy, its the kind of song that has that power to make you feel great.
