The Reviews about Stairway to heaven (page 7/ 10)
------ performed by Led Zeppelin

stop being so jealous! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/16/07

This is the greatest song of all time,on the greatest album of all time (untitled, but refered to as Led Zeppelin IV) By the greatest band of all time which featured the greatest guitarist of all time (Jimmy Page) the greatest vocalist of all time (Robert "Percy" Plant) the greatest drummer of all time (John "Bonzo" Bonham) and the greatest bassist of all time (John Paul Jones) who completed NINE tours from 1969-1971 (album recorded in '71,song written in '70) and released 4 of the greatest albums ever in those 3 years and your tryin' to tell me that they took the time to put satanic messages in their songs?how come this amazing band only got into trouble with stupid christian extremists (i'm christian myself) AFTER they started writting about heaven? As for satanism all i can say is it takes one to know one and theese people just hear what they want to.Trust me,i've seen every stupid video with and without lyrics in front of me and it's bullcrap!Yeah Jimmy had "occult" interests but he's no satanist (he's never sacrificed anyone to satan,he's just interested in the subject) and this is widely acknowledged as the best song ever and it wasn't a single.Zep took album bands to the mainstream and hardly ever released singles.name one other band on earth that could do that!it proves how great they are.all other bands are measured by singles while LZ sold out almost every show with next to zero radio support.anyone who thinks they're evil are just jealous!

Someone tell me | Reviewer: Zack Davis | 11/15/07

OKay i hear some pple say there is a satanic message in the song. I dont believe so. Someone wuld have to be a genius to deliver a backwards message...and like someone else said that this song changed their lives. I dont think they are satanists. someone tell me why or whynot. Because I dont believe this.

...you use youtube as a reference? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/6/07

first off NEVER use youtube as a reference, because one its almost as bad as using wikipedia for a fact based essay, and two half the stuff on youtube is retarded nonsence. As for anything in the song? that is up to the listener to decide, but no one can deny that led Zep is one of the most influential bands of all time. That will never change.

sweet | Reviewer: Marc | 10/21/07

This song is bigger then the band it self....no other band/solo performer had yet accomplished this feat...just amazazing

Stop it please | Reviewer: Tanyia | 10/17/07

Does it make any difference what(and if, although i doubt it) sort of backwards message this song has in it, in whose house it was written and that Jimmy was an adept of the occult(not necesarrily a satanist and u don't need to be over 40 to know). This song is brilliant, the lyrics(forwards!) are marvelous there are so many possible interpretations(if you want, yes, you can consider them an innocent invitation to abandon your current beliefs and be spiritually reborn in pagan beliefs). The fact is that I was, in some sort of way, reborn after hearing this song and falling in love with it. I was leading a horrible sort of life and had tried to kill myself many times but I somehow realized life kinda was worth it if such a song can exist on the face of the earth. Robert's lyrics worked as such a boast, the words "Yes there are two paths you can go by but in the long run there's still time to change to road you're on" opened my eyes forever.
No matter what people say and how they criticize, this song deffinetly saved my life and I have to thank zeppelin for that.

Satanic messages | Reviewer: Dustin | 10/7/07

This song owns. And btw, "satanic messages" are mostly suggestive. That means you will never find one, except if someone put up "lyrics". Test show that when playing a sound fragment backwards, only a fewout of a 100 will "hear" the message, as opposed to 70+ with "lyrics".

who cares | Reviewer: Jarred | 9/30/07

it can be perceived to have a satanic message in it but like does it really matter? this song is one of my favorites satanic message or not. none of the led zeppelin members have admitted to it but i think they may have sneaked a few in there. because yeah believe it or not the song was written in a dead magicians house, look it up. and yeah jimmy was a satanist ( at least back then )

Reverse | Reviewer: someone | 9/28/07

There is a flash website about reverse songs. You can listen to them both ways and read both lyrics. You should check it! The address is http://jeffmilner.com/backmasking.htm.

This is cool | Reviewer: ap0calypse_DaM@hotmail.com | 9/24/07

BEFORE READING THIS, I WANT YOU TO KNOW A FEW THINGS:
- I think Led Zeppelin rules
- I have played the part of the song (approx. 4:15 - 4:40) backwards for about a 100 times
- I was very sceptic myself when I heard it, that's why I played it backwards so many times

So: the message IS real and it is pretty cool that you can do that (when you play it normally, you can't recognize anything of the message, but when you play it backwards, you can hear it clearly) this doesn't change my opinion about Led Zeppelin, they stay a great band, with great songs.

(I used the program "Audacity" to play it backwards, if you do not believe me, go try it yourself)

Did you ever hear third eye blind cover this?? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/12/07

I love this song and this version is the best, but i went to see third eye blind in concert and after semi-charmed life, they went into the chorus seemlessly..... it was amazingly good and i get psyched everytime i hear it.
