"Rock and Roll" - Led Zeppelin

9 out of 19 Found the view helpful

In the years of the mid '70s, Led Zeppelin was at its prime. The members Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and John Bonham were writing the best music anybody had ever heard; eventually all 9 original Led Zeppelin albums made Billboard's Top 200, and the charts have never seen such a feat before or since.

Coming from Led Zeppelin's untitled fourth album, often referred to as "Zoso", "Led Zeppelin IV" and less commonly "Four Symbols", the song "Rock and Roll" became a concert favorite wherever they played. With a heavy beat coming from Bonzo, blindingly fast riffs and solos from Jimmy, an amazing set of lyrics with an equally amazing set of vocal chords belonging to Percy, and the most recognizable drum solo ending in the world, this song has been revered as one of Led Zeppelin's finest, blowing every other band out of the water with a nuclear warhead.
