Rock N Roll | Reviewer: TD | 11/19/07
Man, I'm 15, got a 1986 El Camino, and if you ever happen to pass me I always have that good ole rock n roll playin. Zeppelin is without a doubt one of the best bands ever. Kashmir is one of my favorites( I like the allusion in Oceans 12). By the way Vanya, keep fightin the good fight. Good to know our generation won't let rock die.
Long Live Rock | Reviewer: David | 10/5/07
Kashmir is hauntingly beautiful ... Watch for "Raising Sand" by Robert Plant & Alison Krauss (Oct 2007) ... When I was 13 (1969) my mother told me that Rock music would go the way of Glen Miller ... Keep the Faith Vanya !!!
Arabic Mysticism Influence | Reviewer: Aritus | 8/20/07
I didn't know there was a version with Arabic voice, you say. I won't doubt it, the whole gist of the song feels it is about the archetypal world that relates to Arabic mysticism; the axis-people, in Sufi terms. You know, the elders, who wait and things to be revealed, it is obvious, at least how I perceive it, it is in relation with certain figures.
If you find it, post here.
Lyrics Correction | Reviewer: Michael | 7/25/07
Oh, pilot of the storm that leaves no trace, like thoughts inside a dream
You've the map that led me to that place, yellow desert screen
My Shangri-La beneath the summer moon, I will return again
Sure as the dust that blows high in June, when moving through Kashmir.
Oh, father of the four winds, fill my sails, across the sea of years
With no provision but an open face, along the straits of fear
Estonia | Reviewer: jyri@nurk.pri.ee | 7/18/07
Here in estonia was this show"American Beauty Car Show" and then there was this estonian band "Led R"- and they did that song with a symphony orchestra, and it was so good, I never heard such a sound and such power that this song gives. The original is good but when you see: A good singer with almost the same voice as the orig singer and the best guitar player in estonia. Then the drummer was also good, and the orchestra was the tip of the cake. It was amazing!
Thanks!
Zeppelin stayed on Nageen Lake | Reviewer: Ray | 7/3/07
I often wonder why Zeppelin didn't allude to the violence and turmoil that has plagued Kashmir since 1947. Instead, Plant seems to live in this dreamworld, a fantasy of Kashmir, not its reality. Too bad --- still, it's a beautiful song.
One of my fave songs ever. | Reviewer: Rita | 6/13/07
