Led Zeppelin, best band ever! Can't believe I could live eighteen years of my life without listening to their magic songs. Thank Jesus I do now, and they became kind of a drug for me.
Long life to Led Zepp!

The greatest band then and now. Beatles take a hike. This song proves the incredible creativity of Led Zep.
Pounding Bass and Drums, Sliding Guitars, Screaming vocals. Can Mccartney or Lennon sing this. No way.
This song is classic Zeppelin. This song defies classification into one particular genre. I really don't know which direction the song is going sometimes. Its looks incredibly chaotic and at the same time beautifully structured.
They are the best because they were skilled enough to play any complex tunes composed. The individual members of beatles were never as good.
The band consists of best in the world for each of the instruments.
I listened to this song day before yesterday after 6 long years and have been listening to the same even now after 3 days. That, only led zeppelin can do to you. Period. Not the Beatles nor the Stones.
Some would say get a life , my reply would be get "Zepped"
Beatles were great and they popularised rock n roll but they were never as good as Zeppelin. Would Beatles have been as famous if they were as controversial as the LZ. No way man they would have also been thrashed by the critics.

to call Zeppelin a "gimmick band". That's why they stand as the epitome of hard rock after more than 50 years and Led Zeppelin IV still holds a record for most albums sold. They are the best, no debating it.
I was there! | Reviewer: Robby | 8/27/11
Led Zeppelin was popular when I was growing up and I would like to set the record straight. In those days led was called HEAVY METAL. That is right, that is what it was called in the 70s. In fact, some said that zeppelin invented heavy metal. Zeppelin was in a class by itself and there was nothing else like it in it's time. while it is true that they ripped off some of the old blues masters they gave it a much more heavy sound and this made it much more original. Yet zeppelin was very gifted, talented and showed great creativity of there own. For many, many years STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN was the number one rock and roll song EVER! I to started with Physical Graffiti when I was 15. I also love IN MY TIME OF DYING because it's being a gospel song puts a huge hole in all the Satanic hype that always went hand in hand with zeppelin in it's time. Zeppelin will always be an original an classify Jimmy Page right up there with Jimmy Hendrix as one of rocks greatest guitarist of all time.

This song became my favorite the very first time I heard it. The way it starts in that slow-burn-blues feel which turns incendiary and melts your face off. There's no band ever that's comparable to Zeppelin. Did they pull stuff from their influences- yes, but eveybody does that in the music world. Jimi Hendrix's ony number 1 hit as a cover of Bob Dylan. It's the fact that Zeppelin took those songs and made them truly their own- as Hendrix did ith Watchtower. Zeppein was the most original, genre-bending band ever. Eash of their albums had a different feel but they all sounded like Zeppelin.
the Stones are great, don't misunderstand me, but you can't compare them -or anybody else, for that matter- to Zeppelin. Recently I listened to every Zeppelin album start to finish and didn't skip one song- not even Stairway- there isn't one blatant skip song on any of their albums. There isn't another band on the planet that one could do that with- even the Stones.
Zep Kicks A$$ | Reviewer: Ronnie | 12/16/10
The last few years of listening to Zep, Ive thought to myself, "why was I so into this band in my High School years' Well after years of not listening to Physical Graffiti in its entirety, I was reminded. Theres not a drummer since John Henry Bonham who can play constant offbeat like he did and probably never will be!!If your new to Zep, listen to No Quarter Live and hear JPJ's talents. And theres way to many Jimmy solos to pick out a great one. Comparing Zep to The Stones is like comparing Apples to Oranges. Their both GREAT!!! Along with The Who & The Kinks and Floyd ect.
The Zep | Reviewer: Cody | 12/4/10
A gimmick? Really? While the Stones are a great band, and do an incredible job of sounding like a band that could have been on Chess records. for many people (beyond 14 year old boys), the 5 string, so painfully behind the beat guitar playing of the great Keef isn't able to supply the same pants kick that the mighty Zep provides. If you prefer the Stones, thats great but don't exile Zep to lame street (ahh, play on words) for mystic imagery, instrument choice on some songs, and musicianship. The Stones have mystic songs too, as well as all the other things you complained about.
Also, poor Robbie. Calling Jesus mythical doesn't make you retarded, the Stones do have their own sound and it is different. It is good. It isn't hard rock. Zep is hard rock, the stones are R&B. Actual rnb, not what they call rnb now.
Missing the party | Reviewer: Franklin | 10/23/10
I truly believe i missed out on some of americas best years im only twenty so i had to grow up with the media trying to mind f teens my age into listening to britney spears and back streat boys, im proud to say i ignored all that poppy crap and was saved by bands like radio head, muse, and The black keys. Im kinda bummed cus i feal like i missed americas best party by being born when i was born, my dream is that we can bring around another golden party age. Peace..

If your calling Jesus mythical, then your straight up retarded, Paige never used doubleneck, And im 14, And couldn't compose any sort of music Zeppelin came up with. The Rolling Stones were phenominal, but your comparing them to something completely different, Zeppelin should have their own genre of music..Rolling Stones are considered Hard rock, Zep? Gold. Idont have anything against these bands, but you cant say the stones are better when they havent composed their own unique and completely different sound.

Another version worth a listen is by Alvin Youngblood Hart on his Motivational Speaker album. It is a haunting version and will send chills down your spine. In fact, I'm including it in my top ten songs to play at my funeral.

Have you listened to Led Zeppelin, because a gimmick cant produce the kind of talent and genius these guys put into their music, all the other stuff is just extra goodies and who they wanted to be as a band, Marketing music was never really implemented until about the 80's
Another Zep rip-off | Reviewer: Aussie doug | 11/16/09
What did Homer say? "There goes Jimmy Page, the greatest thief in rock history" - lol
Good track though. Drumming superb. But, essentially, Zep were a gimmick band, appealing to impressionable 14 year old kids by using double neck guitars, 30 minute solos and using all that wizards & dragons imagery.
The Stones are, and always will be, better. And trtuer.
The drumming is | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/7/09
Awesome. 32 and just getting into Zepplin now. Actually worked backwards with the Blues, starting with The Black Keys (awesome band, give em a listen). Physical Graffiti is my intro to Zepplin. Gonna listen to Number II next I think.
Blues at its best | Reviewer: Jakejayhawk | 5/20/09
Charlie, I love your passion. Remember, this song is Blues, not Rock. In fact, Zep was a formative band in the 60's to blend high power (amps, effects, volume) with Blues music. Clapton and Cream and Hendrix were the pioneers. Sure, Rock certainly existed going back to the 50's, but Blues was a critical element of forming Rock. Then, in '66, John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers featuring Eric Clapton released an album that put a new edge on Blues. Clapton used distortion intentially to create a new feel for the song. It was the combination of Blues and power that started what became known as Acid Rock. Listen to the first two Zep albums. Yep, almost total Blues albums. And yet most people hear that and do think Rock. Zep innovated, but they did so with the songs, concepts and ideas of the Blues giants (Muddy, Dixon, Little Walter, Sonny Boy, et al) and cutting-edge artists (Clapton and Hendrix). I hope you learn to appreciate and enjoy the work of these other artists. They are well worth the listen and only serve to help place Zep in the proper perspective. Start with Cream's "Sittin' On Top Of the World" live version.
PLAIN INSANITY!!!!!!!!!!!!! | Reviewer: Charlie | 4/13/09
This song is CRAZY good. Page's slide guitar work is something to behold. John Bonham must have been on steroids to produce a track like that and the chatter at the end of the song shows us what true Rock n' Roll is all about: Rockin' out and having fun doing it! Even though i'm only 14, i'm a rocker through and through Led Zeppelin is probably the only thing i'll listen to for the rest of my life. All the other kids i know listen to what can only be described as shit. My dad is the one who turned me on to classic rock in general. He was born in the 50's and went thru high school when Led Zeppelin was at its prime. I would give anything to switch places w/ my dad and be able to experience Led Zeppelin newest material. I Luv Led Zeppelin and always will. Keep on Rockin' everybody!
